Guest guest
Hi JP. Both those products are high in milk. the NZ is the highest in milk. With symbiotics, it is 25-50% milk powder. Hence the nose issues. Contact me off list for the pure stuff with no milk dilution. You might need less. But what I recommend to people is that they start any new product at the lowest dose and then work up to what works for them. You can't unring a bell. Once it is in your system, if you have a negative response you just have to wait it out, so why not start small and work up from their and avoid stress. Negative responses with colostrum are rare, but they do happen. Anyway, I now people who get great results on 2-4 caps a day, and others who have taken many tablespoons a day. So it depends on your own absorption and your physical need. Terminal people who can afford it take huge amounts. Blessings Donna http://www.excellentthings.net Re: Colostrum dose I was wondering what you would think is a high enough dose for a middle age guy, weight 215. I recently switched from Doctor's Choice brand of NZ colostrum to Symbiotics. Since then, perhaps coincidently, I have struggled with a sinus infection and finally had to get two shots of Rocephin. I'm willing to take as much colostrum as needed. Currently, I am doing a scoop in the morning which I think is about 6 grams. jp
Guest guest
Hi Rose. Since it has fat, it won't mix with water or juice. Sounds like you just need to cap it up. It really should be taken on an empty stomach. One person said they used a thunder stick and were able to mix it in water. I just put it in my mouth and wash it down. I don't close my mouth on it so it rests lightly on my tongue until I get some water in and then I swish it and swallow. Doesn't stick that way. Good luck. Donna Re: Colostrum dose Any suggestions on good ways to take Colostrum. I have the bulk powder from Donna and have tried mixing it with grape juice (it gets clumpy), putting it in applesauce (tastes real bad that way), and just puting it in my mouth and swallowing it down with water or juice (it's pasty and sticks to my mouth like glue). Any better ideas? How is everyone else doing it? GypsyRose
Guest guest
Hi Craig. The wow affect comes when you do the bulk powder. You stomach acids increase their potency by 2000% according to an article I read. So, for anti aging growth factors, uncapped is the way to go. Since you find it odious, smile, I am not sure how to get past that. When you use it capped you get more immune factors. These are diminished from stomach acid, so capping is a good plan if you are going for rebuilding the immune system. Perhaps you could mix it with butter and honey and use it as icing on a graham cracker. I love the taste. A buttery nutty flavor. It is interesting that things taste differently to different people. Although I think you took issue with the smell, rather than the flavor. You might actually enjoy the flavor ifyou could get it past your nose. LOL. Any better ideas? How is everyone else doing it? Very, very carefully:) You won't notice it if you: 1) Mix it with dirt. 2) Mix it with limburger cheese. 3) Take it with 3 earth worms. 4) Mix with raw ground lamb. 5) Mix with ground horseradish or wasabi. Seriously, though: my dear sweet wife caps it up for me, cause I hate the stuff:) NB: Donna, I am taking 6 caps 2x a day, no WoW yet, but I am working on it:) Ciao, Craig OxyPLUS is an unmoderated e-ring dealing with oxidative therapies, and other alternative self-help subjects. Guest guest
Lol. That sounds tastey. Let me know if you can get it down. Signing off for the weekend Donna Seriously: I am thinking sour cream, horseradish and cow stuff...now that I could probably get down. Guest guest
Hi Dr. Saul, What I have read is that it has anti protein digesting factors in it which protect the growth and immune factors so they are not destroyed by digestion. So mixing it with a protein, for most people would lead to indigestion. That is why I was thinking it could be mixed with butter, a fat, and honey, a sugar. Like I said, it is best on an empty stomach. You get the most benefit that way. But I would try anyway I could tolerate it if I didn't like the taste of it. Fortunately I really like it. Signing off for the weekend. Hope everyone has a good one Donna Re: Colostrum dose Date: Fri, 30 May 2003 03:23:17 -0700 Lol. That sounds tastey. Let me know if you can get it down. Christel has purchase colostrum from me and didn't notice much. I am thinking maybe she needed to take higher doses. I don't remember the details. I had a guy on the anti aging list get a bottle and take four caps a day and didn't notice anything, then boosted it to twelve and suddenly noticed alot. Then he bought a kilo. So Christel, how much did you take a day when you tried it? I don't remember. Donna

Hmm, I could do the butter, but no honey or graham cracker...maybe I will try that, but it will no doubt make the butter taste the way the butter tasted on the farm...like cow:) > I love the taste. Guest guest
Here is Southern California, LA, I can get fresh raw colostrum at our rawfully good food Coop. It can be shipped if you buy 30 items at once, so you would have to go in on a package with other people to make it worth your while to order. Daleena. Guest guest
> > >Rose, > If colostrum is not clumpy, it is no good. The clumping is because there is a high fatty content. Anything that makes it disolvable ruins it. The way I took it was to use a deep teaspoon measuring spoon and scoop the colostrum, packing it like a melon ball. I took 2 tsp., in a paper cup. I tossed it back like a shooter and sipped some water, mashing it with my tongue & swallowing it. No mess, no fuss. jim > > >At 10:55 AM 5/30/2003 -0700, you wrote: > > >>Any suggestions on good ways to take Colostrum.
