Part of Dr. G's protocol is the *rotation* of ssri's for this very reason. There comes a point where the ssri's stop working and instead of increasing the dose or adding something else, he'll rotate the ssri. I don't know how often he rotates them as we've only been on the ssri for maybe 3 or 4 months now and to be honest, I really don't know the details of how or why it stops working as we haven't discussed this aspect much since we really only just started. I think the work we all put in to our children is awesome and to me, it doesn't matter how you get there, just get there! I think people can get stuck on whatever protocol they are using at the time and (especially if it's working) they forget that every child has individual needs that may be different from someone else's child. Even though I'm on a NIDS protocol, I have a friend that I'm trying to *ease* in to biomed (she's still in a bit of denial) and most of the stuff that I tell her about is DAN!. She's starting to give some supps that I've suggested and she's starting to really respond. So much so that mom is now interested in mb12 shots and has an appointment with her *Kaiser Dr* (if you can believe it!) that is open to Rxing it for her. She knows all about what my son is doing but for whatever reason, I just felt like DAN! would be a good fit for her. She's responding in a way my son never did. Since she's responding so well, I'm hoping I can convince her to see a DAN!. cheryl
