Hi Eileen,

You asked if it is safe for your son to use Lysine when using Valtrex.

While it's always best to check with your doctor...

To me --- it seems Lysine would enhance the effectiveness of Valtrex

as they both are anitvirals...

(Here is a summary of what Lysine does from an earlier post of mine.

I found the info on the net under amino acid summaries.....)

Subject: Lysine Stimulates secretion of gastric juices

Lysine: An essential, naturally occurring amino acid, ESSENTIAL for optimal growth in human INFANTS, and for maintenance of nitrogen equilibrium in adults. 1. Reported to inhibit growth and replication of HERPES simplex and Epstein Barr viruses (EBV). 2. Promotes bone growth in infants. 3. Stimulates secretion of GASTRIC juices. 4. Found in abundance in muscle tissue, connective tissue and collagen. 5. Low in vegetarian diets.

If you google Lysine for Herpes..you will also find much more.

I"ll send a separate post on allergy clearings.. as it may help clear your son of his other allergies.

Hope that helps

Sue

Thank you very much Sue for all the information...I have alot of homework to do as i have not done any research on this but I will...I have read your postings also on Monavie with much interest and have done some research on this also.... You really feel that the monavie has helped from what I read and I think it is worth further reading on my part... The muscle testing I have read from parents on so many other boards so I must look into this further.... Eileen
