Guest guest
Hello , > i hope this is not premature, but... > i have gotten interested in hyperbaric. they now have home " mild hyperbaric " > units being sold. the cheapest is around ten thousand. I have only found ONE type (with 3 sizes/models). As far as I've found, everyone is selling (reselling) the same thing. The best list price I've found for Solarus is through Dr. Donsbach ($9000). Oxyhealth (the exclusive distributor) has a list price of $9500, but SOMETIMES has demo units and the like that have the price lowered a bit. Talk to Tom Melone (and please tell him I sent you), if you are interested in this. www.oxyhealth.com > upon reflection, i believe i see a path to constructing one for one thousand > five hundred. > if i work out the kinks i will post my set-up here. > i figure i can get it done in about 40 hours of work from my current > understanding. > we'll see. Please (and I do mean PLEASE) go read the several threads on this topic on the list HBOTFORCP (also yahoogroups). I would suggest you read through all the messages for the last month or two (3 at most?) so you don't miss any of it. It was discussed more than once. Not all that many posts, but some good pointers regarding some of the safety issues involved. I learned a lot and found that I could apply the issues also to the commercial mild chambers. Some references to books on safety issues of HBOT construction, and of use of oxygen. I think at this point I would (personally, myself) go with the commenrical unit. In addition to safety considerations, I expect they can be resold (should one ever want to). Which makes the cost potentially somewhat less " extreme " . BTW, I am " testing out " (one session) a mild HBOT chamber this Friday...... [i know of someone who used HBOT for lyme. Write me privately if you want info.] best, Moria
Guest guest
Dear Group, Use of; the portable hyperbaric chamber utilizing milder pressures, has been under discussion for the past two years or so. As with any pancake use of the portable (milder) has two sides. And plenty of vocal steam to go with the plus and the minus I have read that mainstream doctors are using the portable in their practices and are finding practical use of it. I have no personal knowledge but I can testify that prolonged use of the regular pressurized chambers such ;as Secrist or Nautilus becomes very expensive for individuals such ;as my wife with stroke and myself with macular degeneration. Thus far I have seen no help or promise of help from any sort ;of public funding and have long ago given up that it is in the cards for the forseeable future. I know some children with brain damage such ;as CP and autism have been helped, but my belief is the help is rare. I thought the Texas legislation would open the doors for public funding but the sea lawyers as we once called them in the Navy found loopholes in the legislation. The portable chamber just may offer real benefits and we have seen reports that it works with certain types of brain damage. In a conference such as the upcoming Neubauer conference in Forida for CP, would seem an opportunity for the portable chamber, its potentials and or its liabilities to be openly discusses and this would be in the national interests. Our mothers are still crying out for help. Only last night I had a call from an Eastern Shore mother trying to find help for her child. and my clinic has been closed down for 2 years for lack of patronage. We still operate the chamber in ;our home for m;y wife and I. .. I have read and heard reports which testify to the effectiveness of the portable and have been in hopes the retail price would be sufficiently reasonable to encourage its use in the home. Broad discussions are very much needed. Mainstream doctors should give their results utilizing the portable. Hyperbaric doctors should give us their misgivings and reservations and we surely need congressional hearings where all sides and offer their best judgment without fear of any sort of reprisals. This a moment in history where all the facts should be known. Captain Manson USN
Guest guest
Hi, cna you post what you know publicly on this list--about who used hboc for lyme? I will be testing a mild chamber soon too. Please report back. Also, I agree, there are safety issues. Even with the mild chambers at home I'd have someone there during a session. > > Hello , > > > i hope this is not premature, but... > > i have gotten interested in hyperbaric. they now have home " mild > hyperbaric " > > units being sold. the cheapest is around ten thousand. > > I have only found ONE type (with 3 sizes/models). Guest guest
I haven't read the other list but will try to fairly soon. Are you suggesting that the portable models out there, ranging from $9000 to $19000, are not safe? I.E. the way they compress air, or their valves, etc, make them unsafe? I would like to know. Thanx. > > > > > > Hello , > > > > > > > i hope this is not premature, but... > > > > i have gotten interested in hyperbaric. they now have home " mild > > > hyperbaric " > > > > units being sold. the cheapest is around ten thousand. > > > > > > I have only found ONE type (with 3 sizes/models). Thanx. No. I'm not suggesting that at all. What I'm saying is that there are safety issues with ANY HBOT chamber, and that I have thought about them relative to both home built and commercial units. And I, personally, would buy a commercial one, at this point. I have not followed up on ALL of the possible safety issues and how they are addressed by commercial units, but the ones I have asked about I'm actually quite comfortable with. It has some nice safety features IMO, such as the materials it is built with...... What I was suggesting is that there are a lot of issues you should consider in building your own chamber, some of which I know, and probably many more that I don't know. I am suggesting that it is quite possible that you could make something that is not safe, in a number of different ways. Moria

Guest guest
I see. I totally agree. I would not build my own home chamber. You could end up injured or dead! > > I haven't read the other list but will try to fairly soon.
