Guest guest
Thank all of you for your kind words and well wishes. My mom opened her eyes today and seemed to know it was me, what a great present for me. However, her liver is in pretty bad shape and being a diabetic we all know what that means. On a happier note, the nurse called to inform me that my grandfather came off the respirator today and was asking for me to stop by his nursing home to pick up his " teeth " (: So I guess he's on the road back to recovery again. Thanks again, friends.

Guest guest
Oh my goodness, a! What horrible, horrible news. My sympathies go to your family and the baby's family. What a tragedy! Take good care this week - I'm sure it will be one of the most difficult you have ever had to face. Jen P. Sad News Saturday, Norman's nephew was hit by a car and died. He was only 2 years old. Norman and I had babysat him since he was born. He would sleep with me and Norman all the time. I loved my little peanut. Yesterday I invited Nikki (the baby's mother) and immediate family to come over after church for dinner. Well they invited the whole church! Norman and I were cooking so much. I ended up with a really bad migraine and Norman had to give me an Imitrex injection. I had called my sister and told her what happened and she said the funeral home where she works does children's funerals for free, you just have to pay for the casket. Burial in the cemetery is free for children also. So my sister is going to do the funeral. The funeral is going to be Thursday and they are coming over our house again afterwards (this time I will be prepared). This happened Saturday at about 2:30 in the afternoon. Nikki was at work and his aunt was keeping him (on the father's side on the family), well she passed him on to another aunt and this aunt took him with her to the grocery store. Apparently she was coming out of the store carrying groceries (and not holding his hand or watching him) a Suburban had dropped off someone at the door and was pulling out and didn't see him. Saturday night we were all over Norman's nephew's house (Nikki's brother) and Nikki was basically hysterical and the baby's father still had blood all over his shirt. The Red Cross called and asked Nikki if she would donate the baby's eyes and heart. Norman's sister in-law took the phone and told them that was in very poor taste to call this soon and that Nikki was still in shock. After we all talked about it we realized that they are on a timeline and if they are going to use the organs it has to be done right away. Nikki decided to go ahead and do it. She wanted to have the baby cremated and I was biting my tongue not to say anything because I know it's her decision but Norman's family talked her out of it. Nikki felt like she doesn't plan on living in Minnesota all her life so if she moves her baby will be buried here, but if she has his ashes she could take them with her. I understand what she was saying but I'm glad they talked her out of it. Guest guest
Dear friend a, How terrible!! I feel so sorry for all of you! Death is always sad, but this is a tragedy,. I see so many little ones running around without someone holding their hand in parking lots. We live in small town areas, but still there are cars, and there are many " accidents just waiting to happen. " Please know I care, and though I never knew the little boy, I feel a deep hurt in my heart for all of you. You are in my prayers. Much love, ~tricia~ -- Sad News Saturday, Norman's nephew was hit by a car and died. He was only 2 years old. Norman and I had babysat him since he was born.
