Guest guest
Hello Everyone: Been reading the posts mobile and now that I'm back home I just had to comment about stress and anxiety. Having been asthmatic over the course of my childhood and into my adolescence, I was a small kid growing up in a closeknit New England town, was picked on and bullied a lot by the other boys in school until I took up boxing. (against my folks wishes ) The Boxing relieved my stress, anxiety and stopped the bullying from the guys at school....almost over night ! At the same time of disciplining myself boxing I was introduced to and taught massage and bodywork which immensely helped in relieving fatigue and muscle soreness and the aches and pains of the workouts, I believe both the massage and workouts contributed to ridding me of my asthmatic condition. Then came the summer of my senior year in high school. I endured treatment and eventual removal of a malignant growth in my esophagus. Again ,massage played a vital part of my recovery and relief of the stress and anxiety i was REALLY going through......... Years later 2001, my business partner suddenly passed away ,a close friend passed away and close acquaintances on the morning of September 11th...... Major stress, depression and anxiety set in ,again, I can contribute working out in my home gym, weights, exercise, punishing two heavy bags in my back yard and taking the pain and anger out during my workouts and including massage in my regimen were huge factors getting through these 4-5 years not to mention the Hurricane seasons of 1992.2004, and 2005 ! To make a long story short I suggest bodywork/massage therapy / and energy work such as Reiki to keep you d-stressed, anxiety reduced, and more balanced and enhance that by yoga and alittle meditation at sunset each night......just a suggestion from a fella who has been there, and is coming back to a " normal " again.
