Guest guest
I know that for us - when we slip or knowningly let our son have something not on the diet - if we give him Kirkman's Enzyme Complete - it helps DECREASE the negative leaky gut effects.... We give him 1 capsule with each meal and snack as well....
Guest guest
, Are you saying that you give this enzyme every day or just when he is about to eat something non GFCF? Guest guest
, I posted this info on another board to see if anyone had any info on it. This is what I just rec'd... " NOT chewable. Chewable has lactose. Go with the regular tablets - which are very small, and don't taste too terrible if you chew them. And yes they can reduce the negative effects very nicely. " To my knowledge the above statement was not provided by a medical person...just another parent who has tried it and saw results. Hope this helps some. Please let me know if you happen to try it sometime. My son has already started to detox some from our goof up yesterday. We are pretty lucky, he seems to know what it takes to calm him down and shows us what he needs. We have had 4 epsom baths since yesterday, lots of craniosacral therapy & lots of bubbles!!! We are tempted to try the Pepcid but, I can't risk it right now with him starting preschool tomorrow...just in case it back fires on us:-)!!!! Good luck & thanks for bringing this to all of our attention...maybe it will be that savior somebody needs at 4am!! Guest guest
Okay, we tried it!! got a GF chicken nugget on Saturday, 12/28. Sun, Mon & Tues were hell! Lots of stimming, refused naps and didn't go to sleep till around 2am each night! Also, lots of biting (ouch!)!! Yesterday, he seemed to slow down some but, still refused a nap and bit me a few times. So, lastnight I broke down and bought some Pepcid AC...hey, he starts PPCD on Tuesday and we have to get him on some kind of schedule to prepare him for it. Oh boy, can't wait for next week.....ugh!! Anyway, I broke the tablet into 4 and crushed up a 1/4 dose into his drink. Two hours later he shut his bedroom door (his way of communicating " quiet time " ). I gave him a 1/2 hour alone and then a bath......right to bed at 8pm! So, either he finally wore himself down or the PepcidAC worked. Today, he is a lot more focused, quiet and calm.....he's actually able to sit and watch Toy Story 2! The last few days he was running in between rooms or bouncing on the bed while it was on. So, I won't swear by it but, I will try it ASAP the next time he gets something non-GF! I will let you know then if it works or not. BTW...the below posting was early on Sunday before the " terror attack " :-) Nikki > > > I heard that you can give your child chewable Pepcid AC if they > accidentally > > get into something not GFCF?
