Hi Ken,

I used my SCENAR unit for this problem last week. One treatment all pain gone

and muscle released. I have massaged this muscle for the past 3 months with

very limited success. The SCENAR also healed my wife's 3 month old hip pain

in 2 sessions and no pain for a week. Last week we were walking and my wife's

knee started aching. One SCENAR treatment and no more pain since Saturday. My

dentist had 20 year old hip pain the SCENAR eliminated the pain. He regularly

went to chiropractors and acupuncturists and never had been pain free before.

The Acuscen dealer is in California someplace. Call him and he might have a

SCENAR owner near you.

Dear Ken,

This is where fibromyalgia often first manifests.

Take your thumb and press carefully in the center of the muscle knot.

Be VERY careful not to roll off, because that is easy to do, and very

painful. Press steadily and forcefully into the center of the knot, and have

your wife inhale strongly, and 'direct' the oxygen into that exact spot

(visualizing) as you press. That usually relaxes the knot quickly.

Sometimes it is necessary to use the flat part under the elbow instead of

the thumb, for more force, but a wider area. It is also easier to avoid the

painful roll off.

Best of health!

Dr. Saul

HI all, 2 days ago my wife returned from Spain, Portugal and England trip

with a horrible back problem. Was taken to emergency by ambulance in

England and given pain killers, Valium and something else to relax the

muscles (Total cost and $8 - including ambulance ride) Personally, I don't

think it was worth even that but worth noting.

She has a tight knot in the muscle under her right shoulder blade (about

where you could touch with your right thumb) and it is incapacitating her.

Have tried heat, mag pulser, various homeopathic, tiger balm, etc. but have

not managed to get the muscles to release. Actually can notice a lump which

looks like a buried baseball. Any suggestions? Many thanks and much love,

Ken,

Are her fingertips numb, especially the smaller fingers? Does she drink

coffee, smoke, eat much sugar, drink sodas with or without cafeine? If

you rub fairly hard over the arc of the top of her gluteus medius, where

the muscle connects to the top of the hipbone, does it hurt anywhere

sharply, sort of like a burning dagger point?

I would consult a chiropractor, especially one who has familiarity with

acupressure & kinesiology. The thing between the shoulder blades could

easily be a common subluxation in the T4-5 & sometimes also T5-6 joint.

This can almost be assumed in people who smoke or drink coffee/soda pop

w/caffeine. If she has any numbness in her fingers, this is most likely

it. If it is this, drugs & rubbing won't help. The vertebrae has to be

adjusted by a professional. I do lots of back & neck adjustments, but

this one requires a chiro. After time, this can drive people crazy with

the constancy of the pain. I read Betty Ford had this, and if so, it is

most likely what drove her to drink & pills.

I am currently working with someone (and she isn't the first) who

manifests the same pain & knot between the shoulder blades, that turned

out to be peripheral tension related to her gluteus medius. (Could also

be the maximus in some people, or both). I would try the glutes on the

same side first. The reason a problem between the shoulderblades can

originate in the butt is actually very simple. Say you have a vertebrae

out to the right near the sacum. In order to balance the spine

vertically, the body will compensate & you will have another vertebrae

out on the left a little higher up, then another on the right higher

still, etc.

This is sort of hard to explain in writing. Imagine the upper joint of

the thigh bone as a small ball. One end of the glutes attaches here. The

other attaches along the arc of the top of the hipbone for the medius,

and into the maximus as it approaches the sacrum. The grain of the

muscle goes from the thighbone to the hipbone. If there is a sharp pain

when you rub (hard with a fingertip) cross-grain along the edge of the

hipbone, you will find a corresponding soreness on the same portion of

the arc over the top of the thighbone, and must rub hard crossgrain

there also. In acupressure this is called the origin/insertion technique.

I have seen ( and experienced) this going one of two ways. One, it can

manifest as a a sharp pain between the shoulderblades, with or without

numbness in the fingers. (The numbness just confirms it.) Two, when

someone lifts something light & their back goes out & they can't stand

up -- it is this.

If for some reason you don't want to go to a chiropractor, then go to an

osteopath, which is a combination of MD & chiropractor. Usually, 10-20

minutes from experienced hands brings relief.

  • 5 weeks later...

Thanks for asking, Donna. She is healthy again. I just made her rest in

bed for 2 days while I did a version of Gerson therapy with lots of juicing

and coffee enemas. Also, did a couple of Feldenkrais sessions on her and

used the mag pulser and several natural relaxants like tiger balm, etc. She

is well again and playing tennis. I thought it may be just tension problems

and/or reflected pain from liver/kidney/gall and constipation that she had

while in Europe so attacked it from all angles. she was worried that she

had a muscle detached from the rib and wanted to have an MRI but was very

relieved when the pain started subsiding almost immediately she started on

the enemas.

Many thanks and much love, Ken
