What about putting a motion sensor in the hall right past the bathroom. That

way if he does go past the bathroom it will go off. An alarm on the door

would be good except if he had to go to the bathroom at night.

That would keep him from going down stairs but I would still have to put

a lock on my door because you have to pass my room to get to the

bathroom. And I don't know if it would affect him because when he gets

up he's not even sneaky about it he doesn't even try to be quiet even

though he knows he will get in trouble for it.

What's a snake?

I only know them in the context of something long, slithers along ground,

hisses etc.

Is it a real one you eat or something different?

Just curious

Sounds like a good idea writing it down. I did not send a snake with him

to school today because he already ate it. and I will be putting a lock

on my door. So I hope that helps. I also know he gets out of bed and I

shouldn't have fallen asleep but I was really tired and fell asleep

while I was waiting for him to fall asleep so I could go to bed.

LOL

It never occurred to me it could be a typo! It's my literal tendencies

creeping through again (or should that be slithering through in this

context)

I know this is a really old reply, but I am a month behind on my e-mails. When my kids were little I had an open kitchen policy, but made sure I only had healthy choices. That way whenever they wanted to eat they were available. This way we never got into meal time issues either. If they wanted to eat great, if not that was okay too. My husband used to be uptight about the mealtime thing and by taking this issue away, we never caused eating problems for the kids.

Hi Goneaway,I noticed that you mentioned that your son has already had a few cookies and then stoled more. I agree an open kitchen is a much easier way of dealing with things.I like you use to ration food with my son which only made him want it even more. Now he goes in and picks what he wants and asks if its okay for him to have it. I found that his appetite increased and that he wasn't as picky as before as he would try different things.Perhaps he is stealing the cookies because he's still hungry after his dinner. Maybe giving him a more substainal snack before bed might curb his desire for the cookies. I find that a bowl of cereal before my son goes to bed usually satisfies him.
