Guest guest
I'm slowly learning all the terms and what they mean, it's like a new language. And it sinks in in bits and spurts. One day it hit like a ton of bricks "I got something that is going to kill me" and I had to pull off the side of the road for a while. And I have learned knowledge is powerful and keeps things under my control not the doc's or any one else. It is my life and I make the decisions. I just got past a bout of depression only to be hit with this - I got my diagnoses back 2 days before the one year anniversary of loosing my second child to a genetic birth defect. Talk about double whammy. Some times I'm just numb to every thing, some times I want to scream and yell at how unfair every thing is. Most of the time it is a happy medium between the two. Guest guest
Thanks again. And that is what a lot of my close friends who have stuck by me thick and thin. They don't know how I am able to manage part of all this much less one blow after another and keep on trucking usually with a smile and sense of humor. In about a year and half I ended a long term relationship because of his cheating, found out I was pregnant, he didn't want any thing to do with me or the baby, the loss of the baby, and all that was associated with that, get my live picked back up and all put to gather and find a great man that put me up on a pedestal and spoils me rotten - to beeing diagnosed with hcv, and have my world in a mess again. At least this time I have someone to lean on and hold me tight in the darkest parts of the night and looks like I found a good support group that can tolerate my off sense of humor sometimes. Guest guest
We were All overwhelmed by this disease when we were first dx'ed or it finally sunk in we have HCV. Take it slowly until you are more familiar with it the medical terms and info or it will totally consume you mind body and spirit. HCV is a silent disease that for only a certain percentage of us may take up to 20 years to be in late stages with severe complications that may worsen quickly. You have time to become educated and informed enough to make the proper decisions for you along with your treating physicians. Knowledge is power. HCV is a very complex and evolving disease for the patient and the medical community alike. Online support groups are needed to pool our resources of HCV medical articles the latest info and most importantly the friendship and support of others that are HCV+ and know what we are experiencing and have been there and for some of us 2, 3 or 4 times. It's is very frustrating because we want to know it all be given all the answers but Honey it's a learning process for all of us that's why we need each other so much. If you want you can post your biopsy or lab results or anything you would like to discuss in this group any questions concerns or just vent away and we will get back to you ASAP. We have a great bunch of loving supportive members here who are our online family. Attitude Attitude Attitude !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I would have given up even when told I had a short time to live without a successful transplant I would not be around talking to you now. Take Care and God Bless. Guest guest
"I got something that is going to kill me" I have something that MAY kill me. Big difference. You have been through a great deal and than to be hit with a diagnosis of HCV. I am so sorry for your great loss. Honestly I don't know if I would have survived all you have been through. You may be much stronger than you think. Hope you have a peaceful night. Take Care and God Bless. Deb
