Mache,

The allergist prescribed zyrtec for my son about 2 years ago but at that time

one of the ingredients was casein and so my son was unable to take it. At

that time I didn't follow up for another Rx because my son started doing so

much better. This past month he once again was doing awful w/the allergies

and the doctor prescribed flonase but by the time I picked it up at the

pharmacy he once again was doing so much better and didn't need it.

Hope

My son did horribly on Zrytec - typically the first day he is kind of zoned,

but not too bad. The 2nd day he was aggressive, but I didn't link it to the

Zyrtec, the 3rd day was even worse. Zrytec has a similar chemical make up as

benedryl - which does the same thing w/ my son. As do all antihsitamines we

have tried to so far, all stimulants (to varying degrees) and all

decongestants, which are chemically related. We suffer through the airborn

allergies as best we can and use natural remedies for the congestion and

runny noses.

Hi, my 4 year old son has just been prescribed Zyrtec for his constant

stuffy nose. I would love to hear of any experiences anyone has had with

this medication. My son didn't do very well with Claritin.

Thanks,

Mache Liu
