Guest guest
Hey guys, Has anyone else had issues w/ your child's hip bones not " being right " ? is 9 and the last yr. her walking has gotten bad. Had a abnormal xray.. something to do w/ the femer bone, and the hip not working right. Going to a ped. ortho soon. Just wondered if any of you have had this issue. Guest guest
We had problems at age 3. Go to the Dr. and report back to us. It happens, I feel bad for you. Each case is different. Guest guest
Deb, Our situation isn’t exactly like yours but my daughter also complained of hip pain quite a bit – especially after taking our morning walk around the block which was less than a mile, or any other walking that lasted more than 20 minutes. We were told at 9, she “should” be able to comfortably walk a mile. None of her x-ray’s came back indicating issues in her hips or legs. However, after meeting with a couple of different PT’s (my daughter has been followed by an orthopedic surgeon, an OT and a pediatrician and I mentioned this issue to each of them) the most recent one we saw told us that her “flat feet” were not actually flat but her ankle had “rolled over” her foot and she actually has high arches that we were not aware of. Everyone else had told us she was flat footed due to her muscle tone. This caused her gate to be off which in turn caused the pain in her knees and hips. Shoe inserts have decreased the pain significantly. She still has some discomfort but I’d say it has decreased significantly. Do you know what is “not right” about ’s bones? Guest guest
Thanks for your info. Come to find out her hips were fine, all her bones were fine. she already has inserts in her shoes for the last yr... He is going to do surgery on her knees... some little 1" plate on the inside of her knees to stop growth for 1yr -18mos. on the inside and incourage growth on the outside.. This is to stop the "knock knee" going on with her. Modern medicine is amazing!! That will be great if it helps her walk easier, and get up and down easier!! Thanks God all her bones are good!!
