Guest guest
pegylated interferon & ribivirin is the standard treatment (tx) for hep c. However, it is not for everyone, and it's a personal decision. Deciding factors should include genotype, liver damage (determined by biopsy), viral load and other stuff. Most people with hep c will die WITH it, not FROM it, but you need to know what kind of damage you already have, if any. Many people without damage don't do tx. Several of us are on tx now. Personally, I decided to do tx, because of my low viral load and minimal amount of damage. Now is my best change to beat it. I am on week 10, with 38 to go. My most bothersome side effects are headache, fatigue & dry skin. By no means do I feel like the tx is going to kill me. If the sides are more than you can handle, your doctor will take you off. Good luck. Ask us anything you have questions about. Faith is the ability to not panic. -----Original Message-----From: hikrrr Sent: Monday, April 12, 2004 6:55 PMTo: HepatitisCSupportGroupForDummies Subject: Interfueron Just found out I have hep c DAMMIT! doc wants me to go on interfueron, sure seems to be pushin it on me anybody know about this stuff?
