Hi Tracey

By ducks in a row, I mean, have all stress removed from your life. The effects of this powerful medication can cause great depression, so make sure your friend starts antidepressants before starting treatment , if possible. If your friend works, he/she may not be able to all the time. some days you can barely get up., other days it's ok.

But your friend is already so very very lucky to have you, as a freind , knowing you will be there for support. Hope this helps a little :)

needs to stock up on household & grocery items (bread, peanut butter, toilet paper, paper towels, detergent, etc) in case he feels like shit and doesn't want to go out. He needs a heating pad & extra blankets to keep by the bed for the first few shots to help with chills. If he doesn't drink tap water, stock up on bottled. Pay bills before the first shot, again, in case he feels like shit. He might not, but better to be safe than sorry. If not already on anti-depressants, it would probably be a good idea for to start those, too. I joined this group before I started tx and they filled me with helpful hints for starting tx.

What do you mean by getting your ducks in a row?

What will you do different this time?

I'm trying to learn what I can so when my friend starts I can be informed.

Tracey, don't forget it's different for everyone. I'm on wk 15 & have only missed one day of work (I work full time) and put in enough hours to make up for my doctor/lab appts without dipping into my paid time off. Sure there are days, I'd rather not be there. But not any more than before I started tx. Some people handle it very well, some not at all, but most are somewhere in between.
