Guest guest
When my son was moved back to his " home " campus and we had an ARD saying he needed an aid the principal stated they didn't have the staff or the funds. I asked for a recess and asked that the special education specialist come to our continuation to discuss this.I also called TEA to verify that since it is stated in my son's ARD/IEP that he needs a direct aid in PE if it's okay for them to say they don't have the funds, and the rep said no, it's against the law, they have to comply w/ the IEP or they are breaking the law. The special education specialist came to the meeting she said we'll either hire someone or find staff in house. What happened is they did hire an aide but not just for my son but for the inclusion class that was created. This school did not have an " inclusion " class before, this is a new thing. Technically my son is supposed to be " mainstreamed " but I don't think it's affecting his education. So far it seems to be working. Hope this info helped. Subject: your own aid in schools Has anyone ever had the schools either hire your own aid/attendant for your child in the schools or had them volunteer and be your childs aid?
