Guest guest Posted March 23, 2004 Report Share Posted March 23, 2004 For some cancers like lukemia it will show in the blood,but I don't think so for the other places he is supposed to have cancer.I would definately go to a specialist.I am surprised they would tell you all that over the phone.Usually they ask you to come in to see the doctor and he breaks the news.Sounds crazy to me Gail He did have an appt. today. It was his third appt. I thought it was only his second. She did refer him to a specialist. I asked him to send me copies of the medical instructions that he got today before I would talk about this any farther. I don't know what to think, say or feel. Guest guest Posted March 24, 2004 Report Share Posted March 24, 2004 At least the doctor didn't just phone thank god.I would wait until he hears from the specialist to decide what to do,but in the meantime is going to need help in obsorbing all this.I hope he lays of drinking and everything.If he is in pain they can give him proper medication for that.Take a deep breath and help him as much as possible to adjust and move forward for medical help.Go to the appointments with him.With news like that a second pair of ears is handy cause the word cancer is scary and sometimes the patient doesn't hear anything else after that word.Good luck hon and stay with us so we can help you as much as possible through these times.Also take care of yourself,so you can be of more help to him.
