Subject: OT - IVIG

therapy

Hello. Our son is currently undergoing antiviral/antifungal

(valtrex/diflucan) therapy right now and it is helping him. It actually is the

first major effort we have seen real improvements

with!

But, our precious, enduring little one has a very broken immune

system that is not improving with our current set of treatments. Dr. Usman classifies him as immunodeficient

and every time she looks at the

numbers of his immunoglobulin classes and their subclasses, she is shocked. I

just had an appt. at true health today to review our most recent

bloodwork and even after a lot of supplement

work, the IgG, IgA, and IgM levels are ALL still cripplingly low...we need to

get IV blood plasma therapy done soon to help our sweet guy improve his health.

I am looking for information on this type of therapy as well

as " insider " tips and advice from anyone who knows about IVIG

transfusions.

Thanks! Sorry for the OT nature...

~

We would be interested in this too. Dr. Usman also told us we need to make IVIG a priority for our son. He is immune to almost nothing and has gamma b strep titers that are so high they are on the high end of high and enough to classify him with PANDA's. I understand there are special diagnostic codes etc. that need to be used to get insurance to help pay for it and that not just every doctor does it, so travel is involved too. We want to help our little boy, but are sort of stuck as to where to start with this.

Nickie~

I don't know about insurance b/c I haven't looked into that (and frankly would sell my right arm to pay for it if needed...)

We live in Naperville and true health referred us to a specific doc a couple of miles down the road...if you want more info you can email me off-list...:)

Thanks . Is it the doctor is Aurora? mentioned that office and Arch Center in Wisconsin. I'd much rather stay in Illinois if possible. We live in Springfield, so it's only a 2 and a half to three hour drive.

Hi everyone, I suggest you talk to Dr Levingson at http://vitalitywellness.com/ for IVIG therapy. He is my sons DAN doctor and had us do blood work to show that my sons immune system was shot. Because my sons immunity was so low our insurance has paid for the last 5 IVIG treatments. Just to let you know we live in Sacramento and Dr Levinson is in Florida. Good luck. wow, please keep us updated on what happens. Did your son show any outward signs that were specific to the immune problems?

Thanks,

Jen
