What possible reason could they have for saying this? I have been watching this develop and I think you have been seduced by some nice front people who have the souls of succubi. They are screwing you and using your good activist name to cover for their abject greed and outrageous incompetence. M.
Guest guest
Unfortunately, I believe what Dermik is telling is correct. Dermik actually would not have such data but would rely on 3rd party data vendors that collect such data to provide that to them. Contractually/legally they are not allowed to pass that information on. Guest guest
/: I am not trying to upset anybody but I think the issue of disclosing the names of doctors purchasing Sculptra has a lot to do with privacy. I do not want AT & T or Verizon or Crate & Barrel or OUT magazine or any company to tell anybody that I am their customer. It is private information. I control the information and only want those companies to use my information with my permission. Likewise, I would expect any business (including the manufacturers of pharmaceuticals) to ask permission from their customers before disclosing that information to another party. So perhaps the solution would be getting Dermik to offer an opt-in web based listing of doctors who purchased Sculptra with an understanding that if they feel strongly about privacy they can opt-out. I think that approach would go further than moral outrage. Assembling a private consumer based list is acceptable because the manufacturer isn't supplying the private information. > > At 10:23 PM 12/21/2004, you wrote: >> snip >> I will need the help of everyone in this list to create that list. can >> everyone start sending me doctor's names and phones or web sites? >> >> I am sorry but Dermik cannot legally disclose the names of doctors >> purchasing Sculptra...(I know it sounds stupid) > > , my dear friend...it IS stupid. OF COURSE NOT!! Maybe I'm missing something, but simply listing physicians who are trained in the administration of Sculptra or Bioalcamid or what have you should NEVER have ANYTHING to do with disclosing who their patients are. Am I missing something? Gene--you may be right that there is some contractual issue going on--but I still don't understand the rationale for it. Dermik should provide with a written explanation that he can forward. M.
