Guest guest
Wow, great idea...I would love to see this info as well.Anjellica Guthrie wrote: Dear Listmates,I would like to start compiling a database of supplements from recovered kids. I have a 3.7 year-old who is about 75% recovered and have time to dedicate in creating a database to help other people. I think having a list of compiled supplement information from recovered children would be a valuable piece of information for parents of children who have been recently diagnosed, to parents who are well in to supplementation, and to physicians who are willing to delve into the autism world. If you have a child who is recovered or know of someone who does and would like to contribute to this anonymous compilation of supplemental information, please send a list of supplements used. Dosing and manufacturer information would also be helpful. I would also compile with this any chelating information. If duration of usage of supplements were available that would also be nice information to compile also. Guest guest
Don't quote me on this but I think ARI/DAN have just started an initiative similar to this. My DAN sent me the info. I'll try to dig it up and post. -----Original Message-----From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ]On Behalf Of angie carterSent: Sunday, July 29, 2007 12:37 PMTo: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Calling all mothers of recovered children-looking for supplement lists Wow, great idea...I would love to see this info as well.Anjellica Guthrie <anjellicanumail (DOT) org> wrote: Dear Listmates,I would like to start compiling a database of supplements from recovered kids. Guest guest
Anjellica, The question leads to the answer. (you said " calling all mothers " ... ouch! I almost didn't answer because you weren't asking my opinion....). A father started tracking this information already and has a total of about 25,000 cases and 40,000 case histories. His name is Bernie Rimland PhD. and along with Steve Edelson PhD. you can view their work on supplements (and drugs) that have been reported to work and not. They are also added Valtrex and MB12 nasal spray in the reporting process and I hope to see some data up there soon. To see what data they have so far, just visit: http://www.autism.com/treatable/form34qr.htm Also, Dr. Rimland started tracking cases of vaccine injured kids in the 60's. Just an amazing man... and mom's are very powerful as well, but in this case it was a father. This list is still evolving, but as is it is the best data set there is in treatment data. Guest guest
I thought someone would refer to Dr. Rimland's info. I think Anjellica wants specifics (brand names, etc...) not just categories "antivirals, etc..." which I would very much like to see compiled! It would be perfect if everyone included where they purchased the supplements they are attributing to their child's recovery. As to the calling all mothers phrase, I can see why she would use that phrasing even though there are some fathers out there finding the time to do it. For the most part, this area of treatment for our kids seems to be all on the moms shoulders. I admire the moms I know who give out 30 or more supplements a day to their kids all while trying to do ALL the other jobs a mom has as well. There are some days I have to admit I slack off on chasing mine around with syringes and drinks because it can get to be too much. Other days, I am supplement Nazi and get every last one in them Re: Calling all mothers of recovered children-looking for supplement lists Anjellica,The question leads to the answer. Guest guest
I'd like to give credit to all the moms and dads who are fighting for their kids. Yes, I am the main researcher/cook/supplement-giver and hbot diver in my house BUT my husband is 100% supportive of everything I do. From the beginning, we have always discussed everything we are considering. He does his own research at work and often emails me w/what he has Googled. He operates the hbot machine, often does the boys transdermals, goes to DAN appointments when he can and is the 1st one to stand up to all 4 well-meaning grandparents when they start to question why we are doing what we are doing. And while I'm mixing the supp's, doing the cooking, participating on the boards, etc., he is at a job he doesn't love but pays decent and has excellent benefits all so we can squeak by to try to afford all of this. He's also a great floortime Daddy, getting right in the mix w/the kids as soon as he gets home from work. I think all of us parents, moms and dads, deserve a pat on the back and a big hug!!! -----Original Message-----From: mb12 valtrex [mailto:mb12 valtrex ]On Behalf Of Stan KurtzSent: Monday, July 30, 2007 11:10 AMTo: mb12 valtrex Subject: Re: Calling all mothers of recovered children-looking for supplement lists Anjellica,The question leads to the answer. Guest guest
Good call....I would like to see that kind of info compiled. Many times I look to try something new and don't know which brand to choose or where to purchase...etc."Dr. Graham-Garza" wrote: I thought someone would refer to Dr. Rimland's info. Guest guest
The ARI have organised <http://www.autismistreatable.com/> to tabulate this. It is built for critical analysis, so if Anjellicas database include synergies and complexities that would be a plus to work up later. autismistreatable.com intends to get the media involved in showing the world that there are better ways to treat children than drugs: NOW! And that it is working. Anjellica Guthrie wrote: > > Dear Listmates, > > I would like to start compiling a database of supplements from > recovered kids.
