Guest guest
The greens I generally add to smoothies are young spinach, but you can use any type of green- kale is also good as is swiss chard. The green generally adds little, if any taste so is a great way to get the green nutrition into the diet w/ raw fresh greens. Spinach in particular is quite mild. Arugula gives it a peppery kick. The sky is the limit in terms of fruits to add. I'll add banana, mango, pineapple, fresh or frozen berries, pears,a squeeze of lime/lemon, citrus fruits. You name it. depending on the fruit used you will get a green to red to brown mix. I know the hesitation most people have w/ the greens. I had it as well, but once I realized how delicious it was, I never turned back. You can also add protein powders, spices, coconut water or butter, and nut milks to change the taste. You really don’t need any sweetener as the fruit naturally sweetens the mix. There are plenty of free smoothie recipes to be had online. Boutenko is a big pioneer in the smoothie revolution and has some great recipes on her Raw Family site. Let me know how your experiments go!!!! http://www.rawfamily.com/recipes<http://www.rawfamily.com/recipes> Just took a video of my sunflower sprouts So how do they look to you all (Hi Thea, , EW everybody!!! lol) H6pjM>< =WPskV2H6pjM>>< /watch?v=WPskV2H6pjM>< ube.com/watch?v=WPskV2H6pjM>>> And I have the other pie plate on top (took it off for the video)as a humidity dome. Do I keep the humidity dome on and put these sprouts in a lighted place or do I still keep them covered and in the dark? I'm not sure about that step. I think they should no longer be in the dark because they need the light to sprout right? Melody
