Guest guest
Siobhan So glad you posted. Thank you for sharing how your dad is doing. Cherish the moments. In response to Sallys question concerning Christmas wants...I told my boys I want a red scarf. Of course my middle son, being extremely witty, asked " And where might I get one of those? In my red scarf shopping, I seem to have forgotten where it was I saw one. " Made me laugh. But most of all what I want is to spend Christmas with family. My family has became so very small over the years so having the chance to spend time with family is a gift beyond what money can buy. Best wishes to all...and keeping all in my prayers. Guest guest
Hi Stilligans, No,I have not croaked off. I am still kicking (well kinda kicking). First thing I want to say " WELCOME " to all the new folks. I hope you find comfort in finding and getting to know other folks that are just like you. Little update on me, since I have been not around much. I have been off the MTX now over 3 months, getting close to maybe 4 months now. Gosh and I remember being so darned happy to get off the prednisone almost 1 1/2 years ago now. I am pretty much now just taking Celebrex and a light duty diuretic pill. Oh and a multivitamin and I take one of the folic acid pills, which I seem to have a bunch of. I have been getting around pretty darn good, but believe me I still seem to tire out easy. Sooooo, I try to remember to get some good rest. Ha! sometimes rest finds me, I just get plumb tuckered out and crash. A good nap helps a lot if you can squeeze it in. I am off to see the " VAMPIRE " in a few minutes. White Coats still having me donate to the blood suckers and keeping track of me numbers. I hope that I am learning to deal with the new me. You know, unable to LEAP tall buildings, elevators are my preference. Use the stairs going down only. When visiting Seattle, take a taxi up hill and walk down hill. Actually it feels so darn good to even be able to " walk down stairs " . The memories of the feelings like a sharp knife was poking me in about every joint on my body still is with me. " WHERE IS CYN? " I did not have any godess's of the FULL MOON come trick or treating on halloween. There was no reports of big bonfires burning and wild parties going on. Oh and Cyn, I now have a wagon that I can put your darn soap box on and pull around for you. See Ya Stilligans I am off to see the Vampire. Guest guest
HI dan, Just curious, whay is the diuretic for? Do you have high blood pressure? I always had a a blood presure of around 110/70 up until 3 months ago and it has creeped up. Not sure if it is because of our big move 1500 km south or something else. Guest guest
Hi , No the stupid diuretic is more for edemia that seems to like to pick on me. Back when I was really big time sick, I was swelled up like a water buffalo. I do not have the swelling problem anything near that right now, but since sometimes I still seem to get some swelling in my legs and feet, the white coat keeps me taking the pills. At one time he thought my blood pressure was edgeing toward the high side, but I monitor it all the time and I seem to be in pretty good shape with it. I really do like to throw salt on everything, and if I over do that to much it creeps back up a little higher. I went to good old Wally World and bought a blood pressure checking machine and check it pretty much every day. One thing I had to do was buy the larger cuff thing that goes around your arm. The one that came with it was made for midgets. If they try to squeeze you into a cuff that is too small, it will make the readings high. Now days when a nurse or doctor takes my blood pressure and if they try to use the small cuff on me, I belly ache and tell them to get a bigger cuff. You would be surprised at the difference in readings. Gee !! The things you learn from being a cripple. LOL. Dan Re: Just Checking In HI dan, Just curious, whay is the diuretic for?
