Aparicio, Ph.D., BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) Professor, University of Guadalajara, Mexico Presentation Will Be In Spanish Date: Saturday, October 22, 2005 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Registration: 8:30 a.m. Location: St. 's United Methodist Church, 5501 Main St. Houston, TX 77004 Youth Building (The church is located in the Museum District at the corner of Main Street & Binz or Bissonet across from the Houston Museum of Fine Arts) Dr. Aparacio will teach the first workshop introducing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in Spanish. Once understood, the principles of ABA give parents effective tools and techniques to understand their children’s behaviors, encourage appropriate behavior, and teach self-help and communication skills. Decades of research show ABA to be effective for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Whether you are starting a program to work with your child, supplementing a school program, or are a teacher, family member or friend who needs training, you will leave this workshop with a better understanding of how to work and interact with the child effectively.
