Congratulations!

What an 'elegant' bedside manner! Ewwwww....

Enjoy that baby!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to tell you all that my grandson arrived this morning at 7:39am. Brannan and he was 8 lbs 4 oz and is 20 1/4 inches.

House Ped. doctor came in to talk with my daughter and her boyfriend. He said " so you have trisomy 21 in your family and we noticed that his ears are set low so you might want to get some testing done". Doctor looked at me and I told him that my youngest daughter was T21 and he looked at me and said "now don't freak out because we don't know if he has it". I looked at him and told him I wasn't freaking out and that I had never freaked out about my either of my daughters diagnosis. He then asked about my other daughter with Trisomy 10q /5p and then told my daughter not to freak out and maybe have some test done to see if they had it.

It was just the way he said it that sounded as though my girls had some bad disease.

Anyways, my daughter told him it didn't matter and she would talk to his regular ped doctor to see if he thought testing would be needed.

He told her to wait and talk to her regular ped. guess he's passing the buck. I think they should have ordered something if he suspected something. And thanks for the congrats. this is my 2nd grandchild. His sister is Savannah and she is 2 yrs old.
