Guest guest
I had a small amount of Bio-Alcamid removed. My facial lipo. was a bit over corrected, so a small amount was removed with no problem.
Guest guest
There was a poster at the recent Lipodystrophy workshop showing (partial) removal of Bio-Alcamid. I don't recall any information on how complete the removal might be. I don't know anyone who has been through this. Guest guest
I've used Bio-Alcamid and removed it. It can be differentially placed depending on the worst affected areas - so maybe 5mls on one side of your face and 7 on the other It can be removed - by direct puncture over it with a large needle - 18g, under local anaesthetic and the product is then squeezed out - like a big spot. The product is disolved in hydrogen peroxide soultion, so it should be possible to remove all of it should there be a problem the studies seem to show safety in terms of mutagenesis and cancer forming properties - however, you should bear in mind that whilst it should be possible to remove the bulk of the product, complete removal of all elements of it is unlikely This e-mail is confidential and may well also be legally privileged. Guest guest
Interestingly enough, i'm reading this e-mail in my hotel room in San Diego where I had Bio-Alcamid removed from my face yesterday from my last treatment over a year ago.It was just a small amount to more or less even things out. This happened because there is some swelling during the procedure, so it is hard to predict exactly how things will look down the line. It was quick, painless, and over in about 10 minutes. Today, the only evidence is that if I look really closely I can see the "pin pricks" used for squeezing out the stuff. It was so wonderful to see and again, see the new offices and last, and certainly not least, to finally meet Ellen in person. Anyway, it was quick, painless, and over in minutes. I thought there might be a problem after waiting so long, but there was none. This confirmed for me again, that I made the right choice with Bio-Alcamid. Larry -------------- Original message -------------- I just went onto the official site for BioAlcamid. They say it is removable. This is comforting to know, should we discover that it is causing....who knows, cancer, for example. Has anyone had a negative experience with this product? Has anyone had to have it removed? I understand it has been around in Europe for a few years now, which is a good thing, since I've been a guinea pig for enough drugs/products, in my lifetime. The pluses of BioAlcamid for me are: I might just need one injection of the product (convenient) The wasting in one cheek is more severe than in the other, so a larger quantity could be applied to that area, and both would/should come out looking equal the same day.
