Guest guest
Hi all, I am very happy to have found my way to your lovely group. I plan to buy some sprouting equipment at the end of the month when I get paid. I have a question though before I do. I live in Central Calif. and it doesn't snow here or anything but it does get pretty cold some nights. Also in the summers we do get up around 110 F at times. I have been really tight on money the last year or so and haven't been running my heater or my AC at all. In the winter I just bundle up really good and drink lots of hot tea and in the summer I do run my swamp cooler, but that really just cools the living room and not the kitchen where I want to keep my sprouts. Are the warmer and cooler temps going to be a problem with keeping sprouts? Also, another dumb question to go along with that one. Is a mung bean sprout considered a legume or a vegetable. I have been reading all the info at the sproutpeople.gov website and also at handy pantry and also watching all Melody's very informative and entertaining utube videos. I can't wait to get started. Thanks.
Guest guest
(that's my granddaughter's name also) I live about 25 miles east of downtown LA. Except that your nights probably get a little colder, your situation is much like mine. There are so many great sprouters out there. You have to decide what your needs are. A lot of us in this group use EasySprout. I recommend it. Why don't you start with mason jars until you decide how much you need to sprout and go from there. ew Future sprouter with questions Hi all, I am very happy to have found my way to your lovely group.
