Teachers need no more than four students per day and rotate them into and out of 1:1, guided practice and independent practice. Where's the money going to come from? They will tell your kids need breaks, and try to justify downtime. Even breaks should be structured and driven by the goals and objectives you approve of. Every minute. and " I've learned that just by trying new things to see what works and what doesn't. " That is precisely why, I believe, more creative, innovative thinkers need to be teaching these children rather than ONLY teachers who willingly break their strides to please people who don't 'get it' or don't have the desire to work toward getting it. We need affordable private schools and/or charter schools filled with teachers who can engineer, create, adjust and believe in possibilites yet unnamed.
