You have been lucky as they often rock a bit and I usually hold the top which I

notice a lot of others doing.  The mouse pad may help it keep from rocking

around.  A nice silicone pad may do the same, too.  Glad you have had no

problem with that for 30 years.  You are probably very careful to get that lid

on tight.

I have my Vitamix base on a computer mousepad, which greatly reduces the noise.

When I make soup, I wander out of the room, often going to take my shower, while

the soup cooks, so I don't have to hear it. Probably not the SMARTEST thing to

do, but never had an issue in 30 years. In fact, the only time I HAVE

" scattered " ingredients from the Vitamix is when I WAS standing right over it,

lol.
