is right- the Republicans do receive a whole lot more $ than

the Dems. And the revolving door between drug co executives and the

White House is truly amazing.

However, as was stated, there are Republicans who have been

wonderfully supportive to the effort. [And I believe Al Gore has Big

Pharma ties.]

So - I agree it is *not* a partisan issue. In fact it seems to me to

present an opportunity for people to come together in spite of their

polical differences.

It was interesting to me to read in Kiby's book (which I highly

recommend - a great read) that it was Republican Burton who pointed

out that many vaccine researchers have financial ties to drug co's,

and Democrat Waxman who argued against that.

I would have expected the opposite alignment.

And the Fox News person (Reilly?) who interviewed Kennedy about his

article - I would not agree with any of Reilly's other positions on

issues - yet he gave Kennedy an opportunity few others have.

So I think this terrible tragedy and injustice offers all of us the

opportunity to transcend politics.
