Guest guest
Leena, You can visit this webpage for information about the CMT Clinic at Wayne State: http://www.med.wayne.edu/neurology/clin_programs/Labs/CMT/index.htm Rowe (313) 577-1689, lrowe@..., is the person to contact to make an appointment. She will answer all your questions, set up an appointment, and send you a packet of material with directions and forms to fill out before your visit. I went to the WSU clinic in February. I was examined by Mike Shy, the head of the Clinic and the Chairman of our Medical Advisory Board. Overall, I can say that the trip was worthwhile. I knew a lot about my CMT before going to the clinic, but I always have questions and Mike and the rest of the staff were ready, willing and able to answer them in terms that I could understand. I wrote about my trip in the March-April and September-October issues of our newsletter, The CMTA Report, and one of the things I most appreciated was not having to explain CMT to the doctors treating me. I knew they knew their stuff and I was able to trust them completely. We also got the Wayne State docs to answer questions, and we've printed their responses in other issues of The CMTA Report this year. If you have additional questions, my email is above. Sincerely, Dana R. Schwertfeger
Guest guest
Leena, After all I sent you today, I forgot this one. It seems to me that going to Austrailia for you would be closer to India and would be more advantageous for your son, especially with the new trial. Here's the link, contact email/info is there too. This is an exciting trial because it is strictly focusing on very young children and early teens, and is much shorter than the adult trials. http://www.ebility.com/cmtaa/vitc.php Oh, and I did email you about your question. Because your father, you and your son all have CMT, that means it is inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern. Gretchen
