Guest guest
Hi ..I found this very interesting as my son has inflammation problems and the only things I have found to help his apparent pain is advil and mucinex....My son also does not have sleep issues and I did give him melatonin over a year ago and it made him hyper and awake during the night...do you know why this would be..I think it was 1mg but not sure...he has major issues with OCD and repetive behaviors right now...would this help him...he is an adult..Eileen Also the goldenseal sounds like something that may help his irritability altho valtrex is doing a good job on that right now too..Do you all use drops or does it matter...I am using candex right now for yeast but his doctor wants him on diflucan...We have had major die off with rx antifungals in the past and I am so afraid to get all that aggression back again...my other thought was that the aggression was coming from bad bacteria as was stated in the post about goldenseal... > > > > > > > > Hi - > > > > > > > > I am fairly new to this group and hopefully someone can make me > > fully > > > > understand this. Guest guest
The goldenseal helped alot with our daughter being irritable and overly emotional. We saw results very quickly ..within 48 hrs. I would give it a try...we used the drops (warning: they taste awful) If you are on Valtrex I would suggest you consider adding the Diflucan to help with yeast. It is the only thing that helps control it with our daughter. We've tried other approaches only to have the yeast return. As for the die-off. - have you tried using charcoal capsules to help?? They worked well when my daughter was going through die-off. Good luck!!ebrischoux wrote: Hi ..I found this very interesting as my son has inflammation problems and the only things I have found to help his apparent pain is advil and mucinex....My son also does not have sleep issues and I did give him melatonin over a year ago and it made him hyper and awake during the night...do you know why this would be..I think it was 1mg but not sure...he has major issues with OCD and repetive behaviors right now...would this help him...he is an adult..EileenAlso the goldenseal sounds like something that may help his irritability altho valtrex is doing a good job on that right now too..Do you all use drops or does it matter...I am using candex right now for yeast but his doctor wants him on diflucan...We have had major die off with rx antifungals in the past and I am so afraid to get all that aggression back again...my other thought was that the aggression was coming from bad bacteria as was stated in the post about goldenseal...> > > >> > > > Hi -> > > > > > > > I am fairly new to this group and hopefully someone can make me > > fully > > > > understand this. Guest guest
Thanks Angie..I cant really use the charcoal as he is on other time released medications right now..does anyone know of anything else...I belive epsom salts baths are also supposed to help with die off...anything else? Thinking out loud here too...I know when we were going to a DAN he knew my son was on these other meds and suggested to use the charcoal too for die off...so not really sure how the charcoal would react with meds...would it wipe everything out? Guest guest
I'm not completely sure but it's my understanding that the charcoal should not cause any problems with any of the other meds. It's just absorbing the bad stuff. (real scientific response - I know) Epsom salt baths are good. We do those too almost every night. If you haven't tried them - give them I try too. ebrischoux wrote: Thanks Angie..I cant really use the charcoal as he is on other time released medications right now..does anyone know of anything else...I belive epsom salts baths are also supposed to help with die off...anything else? Guest guest
How my DAN explained it to me is that charcoal acts as a sponge and will absorb anything in its path - it can't distinguish between a med, supplement, etc. You need to give it about 2 hours away from other substances. Guest guest
This is what I thought also...if the other meds were not time released it would not be a problem but they are so I will have to comeup with another solution...Thanks Eileen > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi - > > > > > > > > > > > > I am fairly new to this group and hopefully someone can > make > > me > > > > fully > > > > > > understand this. Guest guest
This came from the children's with starving brains group.....she suggests using sodium bicarbonate.....read this: Only to share: when my 2.9 years old daughter started on flagyl and > nystatin immediately she had tantrums and mood problems. Guest guest
Ahh I forgot all about Alka Setza Gold...I was giving that couple years ago and it did help quite a bit....and that contains sodium bicarbonate...Thanks for reminding me...Eileen > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi - > > > > > > > > > > > > > > I am fairly new to this group and hopefully someone > can > > make > > > me > > > > > fully > > > > > > > understand this.
