Guest guest
, that's not how the industry works and I can assure you that you would not be the only person who has ever tried to contact the Black Eyed Peas with a similar request. If your friend, Kim Hill, is not a professional musician of some note (pardon the pun), management won't consider her, the record label will avoid her like the plague (for legal reasons) and the BEP members will not know about her since they are hyperfocused on their own solo and group efforts and projects. Rather than waste countless hours trying to make the impossible happen, I would strongly suggest perhaps buying her a CD by the BEP when the other Kim Hill was a member of the group. Raven P.S. , I don't know if you are aware of this but the Black Eyed Peas love to make fun of people with disabilities in their songs. It's one of the main reasons I do not allow any of their music to be played in my presence. ********************************************************************** In FAMSecretSociety , Irelan wrote: Does anyone know the mailing address and phone number for the Black Eyed Peas? The reason I'm asking is because I know someone who has the same name as one of their former members, Kim Hill; and I'm wanting to help Kim get hired to perform with the band by calling them and telling them who she is and asking if she could talk about performing with the band. She's the one I e-mailed this group earlier about and that I'm hoping to become pretty good friends with. If anyone has any information about how to contact this rock band, I'd appreciate it. I've tried googling and didn't have much luck. > God bless, Irelan >
Guest guest
I did get a Black Eyed Peas CD, but it wasn't from when Kim Hill was with the group. My goal is to get an audition for her and to get her to do a lot of practice with at least one song. I'm hoping she can memorize one song. Since most of their songs are raps, it shouldn't be too hard to sound like a professional musician because you don't need much of a singing voice to rap. I noticed there was a lot of profanity on their album. The idea is to try to fool them over the phone into thinking that the Kim Hill who used to be in the group is wanting to come over and talk about performing with the group without actually lying and saying she's THE Kim Hill who used to be in the group. My ultimate goal is to get her in the group and maybe get her voice on a CD. I definitely intend to give the CD I bought to her the next time I get a chance to talk to her. Guest guest
I know your heart is in the right place, , but your idea for getting YOUR Kim Hill an audition is going to backfire. First of all, THE Kim Hill would have HER management team contact the Black Eyed Peas management team IF she was interested in rejoining the group either for a one off event or recording or a more extensive hook up. And whether you realize it or not, being a good vocalist isn't just about melody. A formidable rapper has to have impeccable rhythm, a great understanding of form and function of words and the ability to free style. Free style is rapping without a pre-set text to memorize. One last comment, . Unless music is YOUR Kim Hill's dream, it won't matter how much you want to make this happen for her. The passion has to be hers and not yours. While what you want to do for her is touching, I think you should re- think how you want to help her out. If she wants to get into music, then help her hone her skill as an artist first and then do local gigs where people in her community can get to know her. From there, things might start to take off for her. Keep in mind that the music industry is a cut-throat business and very few people actually make it big. You're lucky indeed if you can actually earn a decent living from this business. Guest guest
Well as far as the legal issues are concerned, her name is Kim Hill; and unless we actually lied and said she was the same Kim Hill who performed with the group before, I don't see a problem. If her management team that would be contacting the Black Eyed Peas, I'll call them myself if I can just get their phone number and act as her manager. I definitely won't do it until she's got at least one song down pat as well as I know some Beach Boy songs like Little Deuce Coupe. If that group had an opening for joining, I'd probably do pretty good because the Beach Boys are my favorite secular group. I'll try to encourage her to get a drive for performing music as a career. Guest guest
I get that YOUR Kim Hill's legal name is Kim Hill just as the BEP's Kim Hill's legal name is Kim Hill. The unlawfulness of the situation is that you would knowingly allow others to mistakenly believe YOUR Kim Hill was THE Kim Hill until such a time as you would have to reveal the truth that YOUR Kim Hill is not THE Kim Hill. Think of it the two woman as if they were cars, . If YOUR Kim Hill was a Mustang and THE Kim Hill was a Ferrari then allowing someone to believe they were buying a Ferrari when you knew they were buying a Mustang would be an illegal transaction. You would be charged with a crime. The same will happen if you persist in presenting YOUR Kim Hill as you have outlined in your previous emails. I wouldn't want to see either you or your friend entangled in legal issues when your intentions are kind to begin with, . No one wants to see you get yourself into a situation because you didn't know what the rules are regarding these sorts of things. There is a link for emailing them. http://www.myspace.com/blackeyedpeas Please, please, please, please, please don't let them mistakenly think that you are talking about THE Kim Hill when you are talking about YOUR Kim Hill. Guest guest
Nobody's buying this Kim Hill yet. I'd just basically be calling and saying that I'm Kim Hill's manager and asking if we could come over and talk about her singing with the group over the phone. All we'd do is talk over the phone. I know they'd see that she's not the same Kim Hill as the other one; but if she can sing anywhere near as good, they might decide to hire her anyway. IMO, she's better than the other Kim Hill. If nothing else, I'll at least get to spend a few hours with her if she agrees to go along with my idea, which will be nice since I've got a crush on her. Now about the phone number. Does anyone know what it is?God bless, Irelan

You " don't see a problem " but the Black-Eyed Peas legal staff certainly will. Businesses just don't appreciate such " not actually lying " same-name maneuvers as you describe: in fact, the Black-Eyed Peas' attorneys could very easily use your e-mail message as proof that you had engaged in a conspiracy to try getting people to help you commit fraud in connection with Black-Eyed Peas. Guest guest
Why not? You know how important this is to me. I've been trying to make friends with this girl for months, and a chance for her to get a high paying job might work. You can just as well be implicated for giving me the MySpace link as you can for giving me the information that's on that link. Now I need the information please. Guest guest
OK, , here are the reasons why we cannot help you any further than we already have. The MySpace page is a public profile page that anyone can access and therefore, providing you with that link is not illegal. Anyone with an Internet connection can access the public page at MySpace. It is not locked to the public so there is no implication of being complicit in breaking the law in providing a link to a public page on the Internet. You have stated here what you intend to do and what you intend to do is to mislead people for your own selfish purposes, that being to have YOUR Kim Hill be indebted to you for having tried to get her a 'high paying job' despite the fact that YOUR Kim Hill isn't interested in being a hip hop artist. To provide you with the email address that is at the MySpace page would be to become complicit in your deception towards the Black Eyed Peas. It would mean that the person giving you that email address you cannot -- for whatever reason -- get yourself from their MySpace page, they would be agreeing with you that breaking the law is a good idea. By giving you that email address, and knowing what you intend to do with that email address, that person would become an accomplice to your unlawful behaviour. And there is EVERY reason to believe that you may do something illegal because you have posted repeatedly over the past few days what you intend to do with the information, all of which is illegal. Furthermore, omission of the truth is a lie. Misrepresentation of the facts is a lie. Skewing the facts is a lie. What's more, YOUR Kim Hill has not expressed any desire to be a hip hop artist and in pulling together your elaborate scheme, you will reduce the likelihood that YOUR Kim Hill will want to be involved with you even as a friend. Why? Because your actions will show her that you disregard other people's rights and you disrespect people in order to get what you want. In other words, you don't care about other people -- you only care about what YOU want to see happen in the situation. When you care about someone, you do things that are supportive of what they hope to achieve and you do it within the parameters of the law. , no one here will help you break the law. And no one here will help you harass this female. Raven > > Why not? You know how important this is to me. Guest guest
, My husband happens to have the same name as well known physican and one day we received an email that was addressed to this doctor. The first thing that occurred to us to do was to write back to the mistaken sender of the message to clarify the mixup. It would be wrong if my husband tried to call for an interview with a hospital just because his name is the same as a doctor. He does not have the qualifications and schooling that the physican has, so would be found out quickly. What a waste of time the endeavor would be for both parties, besides unlawfully assuming another's identity. Also, proposing to get someone a job without their approval is wrong too. I would be very upset if someone would do what you are trying to do for this girl, without talking to me first. What gives anyone the right to try to change someone's life without their permission? I think you are trying to win this girls affections or attention but going about it the wrong way. Kim

Judy Garland was quoted as saying, " Always be a first rate version of yourself, and not a second rate version of someone else. " I agree with that comment. Friedrich Nietzsche was quoted as saying, " Assuming that it does no harm, the lie is beautiful and charming. " The thing is, lies ALWAYS do harm to the integrity of the individual and to the integrity of the situation. I say that anything that begins in a lie will always end badly because the lie eats away at everything. I have had my AS boyfriend ask me what, if anything, I would change about him if I could and I have told him that, in all honesty, I would change nothing because in changing ONE small thing, that change would then change EVERYTHING. Ask anyone who has ever asked for someone else's recipe only to learn that one or two important ingredients were 'altered' so the recipe wouldn't taste the same. :-o Raven
