Guest guest
I do wish we lived close...I would love to be able to get together and let the girls play For Finn's birthday this year, it was just family and a very NON macro cake (but goodness, was it yummy). Last year, we went to the pool with friends and then came home for a ballet party (tutus, ballet tee and flower crowns for the 4 girls) snacky food and cake. I had cold soba noodles with pnut sauce, hummus with veggies and pita bread, veggie sushi and blue corn chips with guacamole. Everything was made ahead of time and ready when we returned. You know how hungry swimming makes you ;-) Most everything was organic (except maybe the avocados? I make a killer guac with only lemon juice, sea salt and pepper...it's yummy and tart and doesn't turn brown. Try it! No garlic.) For colored icings: purple - take red cabbage and boil it (and then eat it, lol) reserve the liquid. Cook the remaining liquid down and use it to color icing. red/pink - do beets the same way. green - spirulina or cholorphyl (little bit or it will impart a taste) yellow/orange - tumeric. The longer the icing sits, the darker it gets so if you want yellow, use sparingly or ice within hours of eating. If you make it the night before and refridgerate, it will turn practically orange. Long before I became macro, we cut out all artificial ingredients so I've been doing the above since the boys were small. I also have a wonderful recipe for chocolate/carob cake with lentils. Yum! Really! It's so good, no icing needed. (though it's been years since I've made it...the original recipe might call for sugar). Hey, I just thought of this...how about a macro fondue? You could do quick boiled veggies, dipping veggies in boiling water instead of traditional fondue sauces. LOL. Okay, I think I've been out in the Texas sun too long. Let us know how it goes! xoxo... any suggestions? > Ok, Marlie's bday and party are coming up next week. Anyone > interested is invited. ???????? > Marlie wants a carob cake with pink frosting. Guest guest
would be cool to let them play Oh well............. Wow that's way too much work but for 4 kids that's not that bad. I won't have many kids but the moms too. Also some single girlfriends are coming, have to feed them. Went to Whole Foods today and got pizza crust, vegan cheese, regular tomato sauce and I'll throw on some veggies and olives, chips, apple juice and will get hummus and carrot chips and that's it. I give up, don't want to work too hard. I also bought frozen cherries, strawberries and raspberries for frosting. I was told to do the beet thing so maybe I should do that and return the fruit which by the way was was expensive $10 for frosting coloring is insane. Guest guest
Hi , I'm so sorry is so miserable. My husband has horrible allergies and he used to get a shot every 3-4 months. I'm not sure what it is and he hasn't done it in a few years but I will ask him. He also did that tolerance program for like 5 years (before we were married). They slowly expose you to reduced levels of the things you test positive for but it didn't work. It was so funny I asked him why he did it for so long as it is expensive and he said he really liked the Dr. and didn't want to stop seeing him LOL.. He does use those nose strips for congestion, I can't stand them but they don't bother him. Hope things get better soon! Our cars are covered with the yellow pollen. is having sinus and allergy problems again. He is back hitting himself on the head because he cannot breathe. Tylenol helps with the headaches, but he is hoarse from the drainage. In past, I used to give him children's Triaminic cough and cold (purple liquid). Last night, I gave him Benadryl. Long story short, he is so hyper! I need an over the counter medication that will help without making him hyper. Any suggestions?BTW, I have used Sudafed, Zyrtec, Claritin -- all make him hyper. When he was a child, the triaminic used to make him sleepy, but not now! It has the opposite effect. He did let me put some Vicks vaporub on his chest last night -- I was surprised by that. Guest guest
, I have the same problem with my Jon. I finally took him to an immunologist a couple of weeks ago. He did complete allergy testing to find out exactly what my son is allergic to. When we saw the dr yesterday, he said the results would be in in about a week and then would could begin on a series of shots to cure the allergy. He said that envirnmental allergies could be cured with a series of shots over a 4 yr period. You have to get 1 shot a week for 30 weeks and then 1 shot a month until the end of the 4 yrs. Hope this helps. Jenni > > Our weather here is yo-yo-ing a lot here (Texas) and spring has the air filled with pollen. Guest guest
Hi, ...Sorry doesn't feel well....have you tried Mucinex? We love it, and it doesn't make any of us hyper...it's a expectorant, over the counter...how this helps. e
Guest guest
My son has severe seasonal allergies as well, and he loves the Breathe Right strips. I don't know if this would work for your little guy, but it's worth a try anyway (and lasts longer than the vaporub).
Guest guest
Also, for me, I take extra vitamin C during allergy season.
