Guest guest
Hi all, I do not post very often, but I do read all of them. Thanks for all your great advice. I just had Lauryn's IEP from K to 1st grade....and I am not sure how I feel. Lauryn has always had either a one on one/or shared aid in her typical classroom. However, this year they want Lauryn to get more independant and she will not have an aide in the first grade room. She is very high functioning and can do the work independantly in K (sometimes with many redirects) I do realize she is at K level and doing well in school. My real question is...has anyone been in this situation yet. Are our kids dependant on their aides too much? Or are the aides the reason our children are learning what they need. I am just scared she will not do as well next year. The school has promised that if aide support is needed after the first marking period, they will put one in the room. Your thoughts are much appreciated. Thanks, Stefanie in MI, Lauryn (6 DS) Mom to an amazing little girl
