Guest guest
Yeah ! That's fantastic!! I want a foam roller for stretching. I've seen them with a DVD for about $20. As for the bosu, I don't use mine a whole lot. When I use it, I use it as a weight bench to do chest press, flies etc. I rarely use it for cardio. I paid $100 for mine about three years ago. Rob Glick has a good bosu workout that I need to eventually get (they use to play it on exercisetv) and I *think* Gay Gasper does as well. It just hasn't been a priority for me. My two cents!! a > > I am SO excited! I saw a small dumbbell rack on a local garage sale site, it was listed for what I thought was $25. It looked big in the photo so I thought it would be good and worth the money since it was made of metal. I got to the house and the lady said she paid $25 for it but was selling it for whatever I wanted to pay. She had a ton of other stuff too and here's what I got... > > Reebok metal dumbbell rack -- it isn't very big as it turns out but holds almost all my weights so that gets them off the floor taking up a little less space > 1 set of 4 lb dumbbells (now I have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12 and 15s -- I like having incremental #s for more versatility and don't want to spend the money on the adjustable weights right now) > 1 4 lb weighted ball > 1 8 lb weighted ball -- the balls go with my 6 lb FIRM ball & 2 lb FIRM balls with handles! > > All that for $10!!!!!! She just got some huge monster weight machine (I know nothing about these things) and has a bunch of cast iron weights (I saw 50s, I'm sure they went lower & higher but I wasn't looking at those) she uses for training now and wanted to get rid of this stuff. She also had some other things I'm thinking about getting and wanted some help... > > She has a bosu that she's willing to let me make an offer on. She suggested $40 but I'm thinking she might go lower. She also has a foam roller and a weighted jump rope. I'm thinking my ceilings, though high for a basement are probably not high enough for a jump rope so I'll probably pass on that. I am seriously considering the bosu and the roller though. I don't know a lot about either, especially the roller so your job is to either convince me why I should get them or why I shouldn't (yeah, I can easily see you guy trying to convince me not to buy something). I don't see myself doing step on a bosu (I have a hard enough time on a full size step) but I do see it as a possibility for weight training. Are there good videos for bosus? I am not excited about working out on my own without a video. Same with foam rollers. Do you use them just for stretching out? What else? Any good videos for them? I'm thinking about offering $40 for both and see what she says. I would never have considered getting either but this kind of deal is really tempting me!! > > I welcome your responses (which I'll read tomorrow, I'm going to a friend's house to scrapbook soon)! > > >
Guest guest
I am SO jealous... I WANT a BOSU!!!I just decided today after doing some balance etc workouts at gym that I need one. Tried to talk the gym into selling me a use one cheap but not happening.. Let me know if anyone sees one. I could use it not only for myself but for some exercise for my dog :)I LOVE my foam roller. I have a go fit one that has a dvd and I use it for stretching (esp my IT band) and for balance (and for my dogs balance :)I also did a google search and found some other simple exercises (core mostly) using foam roller... they are great..Ok any one see a cheap bosu let me know. Cheapest I have seen is $60 at a store..I plan on getting one in a week or 2. My dog is traveling to CA to compete in agility and we both need to be in top shape :)thanks judy in DCSubject: New acquisitions... considering more, need help decidingTo: exercisevideos Date: Saturday, August 22, 2009, 5:05 PM I am SO excited! Guest guest
Judy, what would you do with a bosu (especially for you because I don't have a dog to train but that is wild that you could use it for dogs too)? And do you know of any videos using one? I've only used one a couple of times and I'm not sure how I would use it but I'm also afraid to let this awesome deal pass me by in case I could use it! Guest guest
$10!!! Score!A foam roller comes in handy for certain stretches and also to release tight IT bands, tight shoulders etc. I haven't had to use mine recently, but I keep it handy.
