My Top Ten

1)Watching reruns of Buffy the Vampire Slayer--her life really sucks more than

mine some times, but she always kills the bad guy and makes it all better again

2)using prednisone as my excuse for eating anything and everything I want

whenever I want and being proud of it

3)watching Ellen and laughing harder than I have laughed in forever

4)listening to music

5)taking naps

6)enjoying not doing many chores while I can

7)doing word searches and getting really good at them

8)coloring--sounds childish, but give it a try, it is quite relaxing

9)getting a massage

10)and again--eating everything I want when I want--my mom is a great cook!

Subject: Coping Strategies

Hi all,

I was thinking since we have so many that are suffering physically and

mentally right now that maybe we could all share are personal coping

strategies for getting though this dang thing. Here is my top ten list

Top 10 Things I do to beat the Dragon Blues:

1)Take anti-depressants

2)Eat naughty stuff

3)Play with my cats

4)Watch the movie " Tuesday's with Morrie " over and over and over(my first

Ah-ha moment)

5)Read the Spoon Theory-- for those of you that just joined one of our

members posted this link a few weeks ago and I can say it has really changed

my life and how I look at things. Read it, print it, give it to everyone

you know. http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/spoons.htm, (my third ah-hah

moment)

6) Do more of number 2. over and over and over

7) Read great exciting fiction and get lost in it, pretend I am the

characters and not in my sick body!!

8) Read the book " Sick and Tired of Feeling Sick and Tired " by Donohue and

Siegel. (my second ah-ha moment)

9) Watch Oprah, especially today, she will be revisiting the children in

South Africa, most have lost their parents to AIDS and are living alone and

many of them get raped as it is believed in this country that you can't get

Aids if you have sex with virgins. This show helps me get out of myself, we

need to do that!!

10) Email your stills friends and vent, vent, vent!!
