CDC Launches E-Journal on Chronic Diseases

CDC has launched an electronic journal on chronic diseases.

CDC said the journal, Preventing Chronic Disease: Public Health

Research, Practice and Policy, will focus on prevention,

screening, surveillance and population-based programs that

address the leading causes of death and disability in the United

States. The inaugural issue, now online, includes articles on

breast and cervical cancer screening, tobacco control, nutrition,

osteoporosis and diabetes prevention. CDC hopes the publication

will bring the latest prevention research to doctors, public

health workers and others who can use the information to improve
