Guest guest
Please reference this post with the photos in the album Growing Wheatgrass. I have been growing my wheatgrass in soil on trays for the most part and decided to give the Easygreen a go with quite disastrous results. Can someone assist with why went wrong. I reduced the watering to every 6 hours from early on as i thought the usual 3 hours was too often. The sprouter actually developed loads of lava all over the inside and they were hatching into worms. In the early stages of growth I was spraying with a 3% solution of Hydrogen Peroxide. Guest guest
Do you mean it developed larvae? All I can think of is that your wheat must have been infested with vermin from the start-not uncommon, unfortunately-wheat and grains are often stored in silos for years and can harbor vermin. I would set it to spray twice a day, then even less if it is too wet. In any case, sounds like you want to pitch the wheat you are using. Worms wouldn't have been inside the sprouter, so it pretty much had to come from the wheat berries themselves. I store all of my grains in my deep freezer to avoid vermin, but if it has it from the place you get it, it really can't be avoided.
