We have been on the carnaware for a couple of years now by eliminating it for short periods of time, have become convinced that it along with Omega 3-6-9 EFAs have enabled ESME (7 yo PDD NOS_ADD) to go to school and be able to concentrate and to be able to pull the words out of her memory. It is hard to explain, but prior to this regimen, even words she knew--she would struggle with and often would give up. There are still ups and downs, that are probably diet and or yeast flare up related, but overall I agree with carnaware for both concentration adn Apraxia. (not to mention dyspraxia)

I have read that Carn-Aware or L-Carnosine can help with Apraxia. Anythoughts?

Just a thought, be a little careful with the carnaware. I think it

can cause an increase in copper (or it seems to have here, though

this was a long time ago), so you should be on the lookout for signs

of zinc deficiency symptoms.

What are some of the symptoms of zinc deficiency that you have seen??anneecbrynn wrote: Just a thought, be a little careful with the carnaware. sorry for the delay, I have been offline all day. I can't remember all the specifics, its been a couple of years., but when I went back and looked at my notes, I see after about 4-5 days was when Esme drew a stick figure that actually could pass for a stick figure which was quite a milestone. I think the speech was more gradual. it was within a couple of weeks. This was one of the first biomedical things we did so the changes were easy to notice and attribute to the carnaware.

no problems here--we just did major testing late last year after a couple of years of use. Loads of other issues, but not copper. Thank you for the heads up though.

Ironically, we just got my son's hair most recent hair test back and

we have high copper again for the first time in 2.5 years. I had

always thought the first go round might have been from the carnosine

in carnaware, but apparently I might have been mistaken since he

hasn't used carnosine in forever. So, my warning my have been

misplaced.

My son responded very well to carn-aware. We've had him on it since he was 3 and non-verbal. He is six now and conversational :). Every time I try to take it away his speech gets sloppy. I tried switching to carnasine and zinc separately, that didn't work for him.
