Guest guest
I was just out Christmas shopping and I got into a discussion with a teenager who wore metal AFOs like mine. He saw my combat boots I had fixed to wear with my AFOs and asked me about them. He had on New Balance tennis shoes fixed for his metal AFOs. He had CMT also. He had tried plastic braces but didn't like how they rubbed his skin. He liked how much better the metal ones felt. This made me think about some of the posts on here. If a teenage boy will wear metal AFOs maybe some of the other posters should try them especially those who have talked about how the plastic ones rub their skin. There is less skin contact with metal braces so there is less heat and less chance to rub your skin. Bob
Guest guest
My husband likes his metal AFOs better than the old plastic ones. His shoes are attached and he had another set of custom cork fitted-arch supports made for them. The only problem is getting him to go through the hassle of putting them on. I think they are better because they don't press anywhere. Elinor
