Guest guest
Prilosec is a godsent to me. Also they use Propolsid along with it. The spelling may be incorrect on the second drug. It may be propolsive???
Guest guest
I believe that Propulsid (cisapride) helps with swallowing problems. Hope this helps, .
Guest guest
Sorry I cannot remember the risk, but there was an article in the papers about a year ago regarding a dangerous side effect of propulsid. I remember this because a doctor friend of ours mentioned using this drug for my husband's digestive problems. Within a week, by coincidence, this article came out. Please ask your doctor before taking this medication. If he/she knows nothing about the warning ask another doc or a couple of pharmacists. There is a serious warning/side effect. I just can't remember what it was. a Carnes Re: rheumatic swallowing problems > From: MBA@... > > I believe that Propulsid (cisapride) helps with swallowing problems. > > Hope this helps, > . > >

Guest guest
IOne of these meds, I think propulsid, but NOT SURE, has had some bad press lately and has caused heart beat irregularities (please check out with your doc; again I am not sure but have heard something to this effect). It is now only recommended for patients for whom all else fails. Please talk to your doctor(s).
Guest guest
I have had this before to, and it was very scary. It felt like my throat was becoming parralized. But just as it started getting bad and I was going to call my Dr. it went away. I still feel like I cant swallow once in a while when I'm eating, feels like the food gets stuck in my throat. Guest guest
A new symptom I have had this last week, you know that painful lump one gets in the throat when one is about to cry, that painful feeling on one side has been making itself felt and of course I am not sad and about to cry. I am very careful when I swallow as I live alone and choking is very easy to do, meat is now in tiny pieces before I put into my mouth and I make sure it is chewed well before I swallow, just thought it was a new Lyme symptom and it probably is Coleen G Kuntzelman wrote: > I had that too when I was on my abx treatments. Guest guest
Has anyone considered dry mouth to be the cause of unable to swallow? With all the meds I take, this is an ongoing problem (unless I have a dental appt., they don't need the " spit sucker " thingie, hehe). Try keeping liquids nearby and when you get this feeling, drink and see if it goes away. I woke up early yesterday morning and could not swallow but had a glass of water by my bed, took a drink and went back to sleep. I am not saying this will help everyone, but at least it is something you can try immediately and its very cheap!! Guest guest
Sounds like thrush , which can effect the mouth and throat after amoxicillin and especially since your immune system is not up to par . Tell your doctor and he can prescribe something that will make it better . swallowing problems Hi...I am having major pain when I swallow. Almost like the food wont fit in my throat. Guest guest
Hello, First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone. Secondly, has anyone had any experience with swallowing problems. Last year, I had a swallow study done and it showed mild spasm. I had one done recently and it showed severe spasm. I am concerned because if I got this bad in a year, what is next? Does CMT progress this fast? I take nitroglycerine to stop the spasms so I can eat, but that isn't working anymore. I have an appointment at the MDA clinic on Jan 3. I just want to know what to expect and what questions I should ask. Thanks,
