How do you eat the mung beans other than stir fry with other veggies?  Since

hubby steamed my sprouts this morning, I did take one of the ben sprouts and

chewed it up.  It wasn't bad but not something I was crazy about.  It still

looked good and I think maybe they are going to survive, though I am not

positive.  I'll keep an eye on them.  But I am not sure that I'm going to

think they are so great just chewing them up as they are.  I don't just much on

alfalfa sprouts either but like them in a salad and especially on a sandwich.

I just wanted to know some of the interesting ways you eat the mung beans. Do

you like them well enough to just pop them in your mouth?

Subject: Fat Juicy Mung Beans

Hi Nannsea,

This is my kind of song (sprouts).

I have been wanting to sprout fat juicy and long mung bean sprouts all

this time. Just finished eating a batch that I was quite happy about and

have some mung beans soaked.

I was ready to repeat what I just did in larger amount and now that I

see your post, I will just switch to use this process. Hope it turns out

the way I have been dreaming about.

It would be great to be able to do it at home and not buy those

commercially grown mung bean sprouts, which apprarently have 3 different

types of liquids added in the process, in order to suppress the root

ends and to fatten the root body.

Sprouting mung beans has turned out to be my most challenging sprouting

project, while most people would say it is the easiest and make it the

first one to do.

I guess it is because they are satisfied with very short sprouts, but

for me, I love to have fat juicy and long mung bean sprouts.

Sprouting mung beans in my automatic sprouter setup with other sprouts

is just not the right way to do it as I use light for other sprouts

which need to be greened up.

I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you very much

Nannsea!

PS, would you post a photo to show us how your mung bean sprouts look?

could put a whole cover over them and cover them. I think I'll do that

just to experiment.
