Guest guest
Excellent post, Molly, and I will say that it largely echoes my own sentiments. Insofar as researching on my own versus asking what may be obvious, researchable questions on the group (which I think is what was alluding to in his very long and very detailed post), I will simply say this: I'm a big information hound and have no problem researching and Googling information for my personal purposes. However, I join a group such as this (or any other) for the specific purpose of inquiring within the group to get someone else's experience, knowledge, and expertise. And of course, the social aspect is a plus as well. So if it meanders off topic now and again or should the questions become frequent or even redundant, it's ok by me. I'm very familiar with my delete key and use it as needed. I respond to topics of interest or where I feel I can be helpful and beyond that, I lurk and/or delete or both (not necessarily in that order : - ). In the grand scheme of things amid other matters in the world, having a lot of questions on the group is a very small thing indeed. And if this were my only concern in life, I'd be quite fortunate, but I have more pressing things that garner my attention. I think that's all on my part on this subject. Hope my observations made sense at this late hour. Thanks for allowing me to share. I read daily, post sometimes. We have little differences from time to time but it all washes out. And to answer a couple of folks specifically: Ann/Border: if it's not for you, then best wishes. Scolding is unpleasant and unnecessary; and frankly unwelcome to this group of adults. As for keeping on-topic (sprouts), I will point out that you posted/answered on: lambs, security checks, and fruit flies. (No one cared at the time but since it's an issue for you...) : while I've occasionally been interested or at least amused by your monologues, your recent diatribes are (I repeat from above) unpleasant and unnecessary; and frankly unwelcome to this group of adults. No one is required to " waste " time answering anyone else; we do it because we enjoy helping; everyone has varied skills on the Internet. If you're busy, you can provide a helpful Google link in answer, or don't respond at all; no need to waste hours that you could spend saving the world. Not every list or group is perfect for everyone; and the Internet is huge. I hope everyone finds a sunny corner to lounge and chat in.
