Guest guest
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR BARBARA HOPE YOUR DAY IS FANTASTIC JUST LIKE YOU !!! Sorry you weren't feeling well today but hope tomorrow is a more enjoyable day. Marilyn ----Original Message Follows---- Yesterday I woke alarmed that it was 1:30 pm. My 46th birthday and it started with a cold. Yuck. The day was spent in bed. One thing I remembered was this: to thank God for the life of my children, grandchildren, and to that Him or Her for my life. I thanked God for allowing me the privilege of becoming another year older. For that I rejoiced, and reached for another kleenex! LOL! Peace, Barbara
Guest guest
Terry, Thank you for the Happy Birthday! I'm feeling quite a bit better now. A fellow Scorpion, huh? When is your birthday? No wonder we get along so well. Happy Birthday if I missed it. Somehow 's BD was announced, but no one else's was. Let me know how you are. I've been thinking of you and little Danny. Tell me how your feisty squirrels are, too. Hugs, Barbara
Guest guest
Hi Barb, LOL, you haven't missed my birthday. It is on November 8. Good grief, I will be 46. My squirrels are doing really well. I just put everyone in new cages for more room. They now inhabit penthouse apartments with 4 levels. I'm no longer bottle feeding, but they still lap formula two to three times a day. Their diet consists of Purina Pro Plan Performance dog food (which is a high premium dog food that I feed my show dogs), fresh veggies (sweet potatoe, spinach, broccolli stems), yogurt, toddler bananas (Gerber of course), rice cereal, and most recently a squirrel mix of cracked corn, sunflower seeds, pecans, walnuts, and some other seeds that I don't what they are. I'm making nutballs for them which has a bunch of nuts along with certain vitamins and minerals (calcium) and they are thriving. The demon four are becoming quite tame which really concerns me because these four I want to release in the spring. I'm hoping that when I complete my outside enclosure for them that they will become more wild. I received a hefty settlement from State Farm from when Frances hit us. So, complements of State Farm, not only will I get a new roof, but I will have enough $$ left over to purchase the supplies to build my outdoor squirrel enclosure. I'll have several cages now for future squirrel refugees. Poppy and Hoppie are doing great. They are really friendly and I take them places with me. You should see the looks I get when I go somewhere with two squirrels on my shoulder. It's a riot. While Hoppie is a one person squirrel, Poppy is quite the ham. He allows anyone to touch him. He enjoys being scratched under his chin, on his belly, anywhere that feels good to him. Poppy is a character. Little Danny is doing well. He went on a field trip to the dentist yesterday. They will end up having to put him in the hospital to do all of his dental work. HeadStart is going to pay for him to have all of his teeth fixed. Poor kid just can't handle sitting in the chair and we had to restrain him just for the exam. I was hoping that he would do well, but nope. So, they will put him under a general anesthesia in same day surgery and do it all at once. Then it will be over and he will no longer have a rotten mouth. I closed on my home too. I'm a happy homeowner despite being on disability. I'm so relieved. After a long two years I can finally say I have a place that I can call home, where I will grow old, and I won't be homeless again. No one except the bank can take it from me. LOL. It's a good feeling. Now after seven months, I can start hanging pictures on the walls. Maybe this weekend. School is going well. I had to drop my Concepts of Disease class. The teacher and I just couldn't connect. It turns out I'm not the only person that felt this way because over half of my class dropped the course. I'll retake it in the fall with a different instructor. My grades are good. I cannot complain at all. I register for spring classes on Monday. Healthwise, I'm hanging in there. It's the same old song and dance. Nothing new to report. There are good days and not so good. Today is a so so day. LOL. For today I am not complaining and this is a good thing. So, that is what is going on with us. Hope you are doing well and that you enjoyed your special day. I think of you everyday. Take care. Much love, Terry
Guest guest
Terry, Great to hear about your squirrels and to know other folks are daft about animals as well! We feed squirrels, a pair of foxes, two crows and occasionally ring necked parakeets (they are now quite common in the south east since some escapped about twenty years ago). Hope you have more good days than bad days. Carole(UK) Re: Happy Birthday Barb! Hi Barb, LOL, you haven't missed my birthday. It is on November 8. Good grief, I will be 46.
