Burdock is another thistle in the same family as cardoon and artichoke. I've

also heard that Italians call artichokes cardoonas. The burdock root (long and

slender; called gobo) is used in Japanese cooking, but I heard that the young

stems and the flower stalk can also be eaten. Burdock grows like a weed all over

this country so I imagine a food forager would have no trouble finding it in the

spring. When I would go on my nature hikes I remember spending twenty minutes

finding and pulling off the burs that were stuck to my clothes, just brush

against that mature plant and those seed pods would attach themselves very

firmly.

Melody-

Do you buy the SilverBiotics locally, or online? I have very very few health

food/healthy nutritional stores near me.

I have numerous health problems, including fibromyalgia, polycystic ovarian

syndrome, fibroids, migraines, and bipolar disorder. I have NUMEROUS allergies

too.

I have lost 66 pounds in the past 15 months due to cutting back portion sizes

and cutting back on some of the crappy food I eat. I can't use artificial

sweetners at all (I react to them - migraines and/or allergic reactions) so I

try to use pure cane sugar products/honey/or stevia instead of HFCS. I do have

a very bad habit of Mountain Dew, but I try to limit myself to 20 ounces a day.

It's really my worst vice since trying to eat healthier.

But I love the True Lemon and True Lime! I need to go buy it again! Do they

still make the True Orange?

Oh! True lemonades?!? I didn't know they made those! Will be hunting those

down! I knew that the last time I had ordered the lemon and lime, they had

orange, but still can't find it in the stores, so was afraid they quit making

it. I'm glad they still make it!

I'll check our local GNC for the SilverBiotics. If they don't have it, I'll

just find it online. It's not below freezing, so I know I can get it.
