We were talking about our solar SPORT solar ovens.  I do a group buy where we

can get them at a discount by buying as a group (I do not profit from this=I

just collect the orders)  You can email me at berrywell@... for more

info.

Somehow I missed the start of this topic beginning on solar ovens. Was

this hand made, or purchased?

Thanks, Phyllis

, I can get a great price on solar ovens through a group buy (I don't

sell them, just collect the orders) Our price for the solar SPORT oven in $184,

and includes EVERYTHING you need to cook solar, except the food! That price

includes shipping to. I am putting together an order now, so if you would like

one, (or anyone else-there are 3 left at this price) email me at

berrywell@.... I have tried pretty much all of the solar ovens out there,

and I find the Sport to be the best, easiest to use, and most efficient.

What is the site on that again?  Do you get it out every day or do you leave it

out all winter?  I wondered about how you keep it in good shape.

It can sit on the ground, but I keep mine on a little rolling laundry cart-much

easier to stand at it. I have a grill cover that I put over it to store-I leave

it out year round. I like the rolling laundry cart since it is easy to move

around when the oven is in use, so I can aim it at the sun. You can read about

the solar sport at http://www.solarovens.org, but email me if you want to order

it at the better price and get the included accessories, upgraded reflector and

free shipping-email berrywell@...

I actually got interested in solar cooking when hurricane Charlie nailed us in

Port Charlotte in 2004- we had no power for well over a month. I vowed that

would NEVER happen again, and that is when I learned about solar cooking and the

solar Sport oven-I haven't used my kitchen oven since 2004. I use my solar

almost every day, year round. I often prepare my foods in the cookpots the

night before, then all I have to do is set them in the solar in the morning and

leave them alone-nice to not have to " babysit " my food! I often leave for the

whole day, knowing dinner will be hot and ready whenever I get back to it. We

cook a lot of " in the jar " meals, where we layer different foods in mason jars

and let them cook-nice way to individualize ingredients for allergies,

vegetarians, picky eaters, etc. Omelets in a jar are AMAZING, as are desserts

like brownies layered with raspberry sauce, marshmallows, etc.
