I was wondering why its being attacked & put out with the artificial sweeteners!? It is a plant & is NOT man made, how can that be harmful???? i have a stevia plant just starting to grow I figured it is WAY better than sugar or a man made sweetener... Stevia is not an artificial product. It is a plant native to So. America. It is no different than the sprouts you grow. Just sweeter. As a diabetic, it is better for me that sugar. And far better than any of the artificial junk they put in food today. This why I grow as much of my own food as possible and shop in stores that are a concerned about my health as I am. ew Re: Stevia info I don't use stevia or artificial sweeteners because of their effect on the environment. They (along with psychotropic meds) are found in the water table as contaminants. I did a good amount of research on this and we decided in my house to avoid stevia and the artificial sweeteners. I don't go nuts with this, so if stevia is in something I eat, I eat it. I find saccharin to be absolutely scary and I will not eat things containing that. Xylitol and sorbitol made me sick (there are plenty of warnings about their potential effects on the gut), so I don't eat this ever. Accidentally had a few cough drops containing sorbitol and my stomach really hurt. Not telling anyone else what to do just explaining what I do. I also find the behavior of the FDA suspect. Speaking of things dietary, Jack Norris' new book " Vegan for Life " just came out and I highly recommend it n Dr. Rollings NJ Licensed Psychologist #4686 www.DrnRollings.com S Visit Your Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sproutpeople;_ylc=X3oDMTJlaXBvbWFhBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0\ BGdycElkAzI0OTM2MDAEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNzA1MDYwOTUwBHNlYwN2dGwEc2xrA3ZnaHAEc3RpbWUDMTMw\ OTM2NzkwMw-- http://groups.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTJkb211MHVlBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzI0OTM2MD\ AEZ3Jwc3BJZAMxNzA1MDYwOTUwBHNlYwNmdHIEc2xrA2dmcARzdGltZQMxMzA5MzY3OTAz Switch to: sproutpeople-traditional <mailto:sproutpeople-traditional%40yahoogroups.com> %3Fsubject%3DChange%20Delivery%20Format%3A%20Traditional , sproutpeople-digest <mailto:sproutpeople-digest%40yahoogroups.com> %3Fsubject%3DEmail%20Delivery%3A%20Digest • sproutpeople-unsubscribe <mailto:sproutpeople-unsubscribe%40yahoogroups.com> %3Fsubject%3DUnsubscribe • Terms of Use http://docs.yahoo.com/info/terms/ .. Guest guest
I have a question about these Stevia plants. After you plant them, what steps are done to make them a sweetner?
