Guest guest
, I live west of Minneapolis and am a gardener/landscaper by trade. There is 'no' source for organic soil when dealing with commercial business's that sell it bulk by the yard for much of that soil comes from development area's before housing is built and/or road construction. If you desire bulk 'organic' soil then you would want to contact a family that farms to see if they have any. One potting soil that is organic is 'Monrovia Potting Soil'. This is what I use for my clients when installing flowers, edible plants, herbs etc. It is sold at some nurseries and all you would have to do is call and ask. If you would like particular names of nurseries that do sell it, feel free to contact me directly. By the way, at the end of the season, I empty out these pots and reuse the soil the following year. Hope this helps, Mueller Garden Life Living Foods

Guest guest
I think I am going to give my organic soil to my husband for the flowers in the yard and try to find some coconut coir. I grew a few batches of sunnies in the organic soil, but I am not happy with it. Yesterday when I was putting some soil into my pie plate, I saw something white and I looked closer and it was some sort of an animal tooth. That grossed my out totally. It looked like maybe a cat tooth or something, I'm not really sure. Another reason that I don't like the organic soil is that I have found some white mold growing on top of the soil when I grow my sunnies. I am not giving up on my sunnies, I love the taste of them. I am going to find some other medium to use though and since I have an hour and half drive to Fresno, it will have to wait until another day till I get there. I am loving the conversation though to see what is working for others. I am not looking forward to going to Lowe's or Home Depot though, because once my husband goes in there I have a really hard time getting him to come back out of the store and we will be there the whole day.
