Guest guest
Well, I don't know. Five minutes ago I made Chocolate Banana Ice cream . I am savoring it right now. I wish I had this thing 20 years ago. OMG the things one can make in this thing. OMG It's so creamy and I used ALMOND MILK. Alan doesn't even know he's not eating regular ice cream. Oh My Melody > > So are you a sprouter-mixer or a vita-sprouter? > Beverly > Texas > > > Re: Blender > > > HI. > > I can now threaten him with " If you don't help me around the kitchen, NO > VITAMIX thing tonight " . Guest guest
This is wonderful. I'm so proud of Alan, and you of course. So the next thing to do is make almond milk Now where's the video? Guest guest
In time. I just got the organic vanilla almond milk. Alan has announced " this is all I want every night, don't make anything else, this is THE BOMB " . I want to try different things. I'll get him to change. Someday I'll make almond milk. I'm making blueberry muffins tomorrow. Can I use the vanilla almond milk instead of the low fat regular milk that I previously used to use? thanks, Melody > > > > So are you a sprouter-mixer or a vita-sprouter? > > Beverly > > Texas > > > > > > Re: Blender > > > > > > HI. > > > > I can now threaten him with " If you don't help me around the kitchen, NO > > VITAMIX thing tonight " . Guest guest
Yes Melody, I use almond milk (homemade or store-bought) instead of dairy milk in everything! There is no difference in the end product in my opinion. I even make " buttermilk " with almond milk for baking. -- ~~In Messiah Yeshua, Vickilynn Haycraft Micah 6:8 http://www.realfoodliving.com http://www.blog.realfoodliving.com http://www.examiner.com/housewares-in-national/vickilynn-haycraft http://www.examiner.com/family-preparedness-in-national/vickilynn-haycraft http://www.bepreparedradio.com/host-directory/get-real-get-prepared-vickilynn-ha\ ycraft/<http://www.bepreparedradio.com/category/prepper-podcasts-health/get-real\ -get-prepared/> > ** > > > In time. Guest guest
Hi Melody I saw your mention of benefiber and wondered if you are familiar with chia seeds? Chia seeds have many health benefits as well as having fiber that aids in getting intestinal system back on track. I have switched from using ground flax to chia seeds and both Mom and sister are now using as well. My sister is diabetic and is seeing improvement in blood sugar levels using chia seeds. Lots of info online about using chia seeds. Here is one link. http://blog.thrivefoods.net/2009/07/chia-seeds-top-10-benefits.html Enjoy reading your posts. Guest guest
Melody, I never have. Usually I soak them first. I used to make gel with 1/3 c. chia seeds and 1/2 c. flax seeds in a quart jar and add water to fill, stirring well. Stir every few minutes for about 15 minutes then cover and refrigerate. Keeps about 7-10 days. I would add about 1/3 c. of this gel to my green drinks. Gonna have to start this again! I felt better when I had this for breakfast: 1/3 c. gel, couple big handfuls of greens, fresh or frozen fruit and water. Blend it all well and enjoy. Some of my favorite combos are peaches with spinach, kale with pineapple, mixed lettuces with strawberries, collard and blueberries, etc... I wish n were here to chime in on this. Anyway, enjoy your blender adventures, ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Sun, September 18, 2011 7:08:27 PM Subject: Re: Blender : Do you grind the chia seeds before you use them? Guest guest
Hi Melody I've read that 1-2 tablespoons a day is a good amount to use. Someone new to them might want to use smaller amount at first. I put 2 tablespoons in my morning kefir smoothie without gelling them first. Between the kefir and the chia seeds constipation should never be an issue lol. My sister I believe is mixing the seeds ahead so that she is using the gelled seeds. She is also taking it twice a day which helps control her appetite and manager blood sugar. I think either way of using the chia seeds is fine. Yes I've stirred the seeds into my yogurt also. Since I've been using milk kefir my yogurt consumption is way down but do love vanilla yogurt with fresh fruit sliced into it and chia seeds. > > > > > > Hi EW: > > > > > > As we continue to age, we get more afraid. Of getting older, of getting diseases, of getting this or that. Because your wife has no health problems, she is stuck in a way of thought that will really be hard to change. Guest guest
I wish you could compile all the informative msgs in this group plus your personal experiences, plus links to all your You Tube videos plus any other helpful tidbits that you've gleaned and learned, into one book or online collection, right at our fingertips!! With my work schedule and other stuff going on, plus 7k msgs in my inbox (and probably 1k easily are just saved sproutpeople msgs, LOL), I feel like I'm missing so good info! It's definitely catch as catch can when it comes to getting vital sprout info on a regular basis! On a brighter note, today at work I had a mix of organic chickpea, adzuki, mung bean and other legume sprouts with my lunch! It about sprouted me out, LOL, since it was alot of sprouts! But it's all good! Thea ---- Melody wrote: > Hi there. > > Never inall my life have I learned so much as I have from going on these message boards. > > And now that I am vitamixing. Take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXVAyN_rNlU He thinks he can now go on SURVIVOR lol Melody

Guest guest
Isn't he a hoot?? And he's going to be on Survivor (or so he thinks). As for me, yesterday my doctor said " you have Labyrinthitis " . I knew this. Had a dizzy spell on Saturday and slept most of the day and Sunday too. I'm the type of person who DOESN'T WANT TO BE ILL SO I WON'T BE ILL. lol Alan had this years ago and we had to call the paramedics. His vertigo was awful. I'm just taking care of myself. Haven't had any dizzy spells since that two second one on Saturday but I'm getting my sea legs back. I eat healthy, I don't cook with salt. I looked this up and it seems that a positive attitude plays a big part in getting over this thing. So I'm sprouting and vitamixing and having fun and WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS COCONUT?? lol Melody > > > >> > >> Hi. > >> > >> Yesterday I purchased my FIRST coconut. Guest guest
Here is a new gadget for you and your coconuts, Melody! Our dear Peggy put me on to this one, I had an old one with only 2 little " curlers " on it, but this one is the bomb!! (If you are in to peeling a lot of veggies, the cai bao on this is great too-comes in a left or right hand model)  http://ubraw.com/rawtools.html Subject: Re: Blender To: sproutpeople Date: Tuesday, September 20, 2011, 5:43 PM  Isn't he a hoot??
