Guest guest
Sharon, I just wanted to welcome you to this wonderful support group and I really look forward to meeting you. The support here is wonderful and the family just grows daily. You will find so much information here. I live in Connecticut, so we are not too far from each other. I have relatives that live in Lancaster, PA and we sometimes visit. Take care Sharon and welcome again. Love, Sue #
Guest guest
Sharon and Lee, I have the same problem. And the uncontrollable eating has been worse lately. Though, I have to admit, if I look back on how much I could put away prior to surgery, it's nowhere near that amount. I think it's normal for anyone, DS patient or not, to have days where they just can't eat enough and days when they barely have an appetite. If the uncontrollable eating continues, I would suggest eating nothing but protein for a few days. It fills me up so much quicker than anything else. Hugs! Guest guest
So I will wait out the > remainder of my " window " and then see if I have the courage to have > the surgery he recommends... You will have the courage Dollface...Because if I have to I'll be there making you MORE afraid to face me than surgery...then after surgery I'll be there patting your hand telling you what a brave little soldier you were and how it's all going to get better and I'm going to buy you your first pair of Jeans that won't come from the womans department. That's a promise! In the mean time...I think it wise to use the rest of your window for best results. Hugs Jo

You too are doing great! We were neck and neck, now you have passed me standing still! But boy what you have been through! Whew! You are looking like you are feeling better and that is good news. I do have to confess, tho, it is like Jo said. You get to a point in certain areas and you want it to stop there...and loose in other areas, but that doesnt happen. So I am loosing again in my face and boobs. AAUUGGHH!!! Now that I have lost all that face firming fat, well my age is creeping up on me and I too can see and detest all those lines and wrinkles that are daily popping up...and loosing what little boobs i had is so distressing too. I even tried one of those gel bras but couldnt find a place for all this excess skin! Yuch, so it is back to the sports bras for me...no glamour puss here. smiles everyone, smiles! Guest guest
Adult day program...wow that does sound a bit frightening...it's hard for us to let them go...as they still need us so much, even at 21 (is J 21?) --- anyhow I will say a special prayer for you tonight, for J, and his summer program. take care.......load a picture of him when you can... e To: AutismBehaviorProblems Sent: Monday, May 18, 2009 8:13:32 PMSubject: Re: Sharon e, J is doing good. Guest guest
e, Yes! J is 21! I can't beleive the time has passed so fast. The day program will be a parmeneat thing. They want J to go to his "Graduation" but I think it will be to much stimula for him. They expect him to sit for 3 hours on a stage and keep a gown and hat on AND a necktie! Jake and I talked it over and we think if J really understood what it meant and WANTED to go to it Of course we would! But J won't so I think we are going to just keep him home that day. J's aid agrees with me but his teacher keeps bugging me to let him go........(She isen't the one having to be with him and trying to keep him calm thru the whole thing.) Anyhoo....Sorry for going on about it just needing to sound off on it. Lois (: Re: Sharon
Guest guest
You know best Lois...you really do --- I agree with you --- often times teachers and or therapists (which by the way, things are working out again with mine say things and encourage us to do things out of the kindness of their hearts, but you are right, they don't have to do the work, and sometimes I'm not up for things either.... let us know how J does in his day program...can you explain more..no details of course, just what is the day program going to be like for him, what will they do...how many other young adults, etc? Take care... e To: AutismBehaviorProblems Sent: Tuesday, May 19, 2009 8:35:24 PMSubject: Re: Sharon e, Yes! J is 21! Guest guest
Lois, why would they have a graduation ceremony like that for JJ. or why couldn't he just come about the time for him to walk across the stage and receive his diploma. karac could never handle anything that long. How does that make you feel? Love and blessings, Pat K Re: Sharon e, Yes! J is 21!
