Guest guest
I am having a really hard time right now!!! My husband and I had a huge birthday party for our 5 year old this weekend. It was going great until my step daughter(emily-the one child we have with autism)started throwing a fit and her dad would do nothing to stop it!! She had been out with her what I call her " baby sitter " on friday night and came home in a bad mood because they ran into on of her teachers out with his client, and he didnt gush all over her.(she has a serious boundry prob with males in authority-stalking,writing love notes, etc.)Aways,we thought we had all the probs worked out and her calmed down, but NO we were FAR FROM IT!! So we sat her down away from the other guests(mostly family and 5 year olds and their parents. She calmed down, but later that night she started up again threating to OD on her meds, then low and behold at the supper table she sat down and passed out and then had a seizure,we think, drs not sure. We called 911 and went to hospital, were she had a " miraculas recovery " !! The minute she had EVERBODYS attention she was cured. She had in fact taken 2 extra pills.I know that I need to understand her needs, but darn it its hard to sacrifice 6(almost 7)other children just to keep the peace in the house!! Any suggestions or commets are welcome!!PS- I am still the only one who is seeing this as one of her attention getters.
